White WineA Dowie Doole interpretation of the Classic Australian Chardonnay. Chief Winemaker Chris Thomas has crafted a flavour-packed wine with a bouquet of fresh peaches and pears, a crisp citrus palate and a lively lingering finish.
The grapes for this wine are sourced from select vineyards alongside Australia’s longest river, the Murray. Designed to be drunk now and over the next year, it is a great wine to match to mussels, risotto and any white meats.
Red WineThe Long River Shiraz is made by Dowie Doole Chief Winemaker Chris Thomas and is sourced from selected vineyards grown alongside Australia’s longest river, the River Murray in South Australia. Pure 100% Shiraz this red wine exhibits aromas of plum, clove and pepper alongside notes of vanilla and mocha from the use of oak. The fruit from the nose flows onto the palate bursting with luscious flavours of plum and vanilla giving the wine a long lingering finish.
An easy-drinking, delicious Cabernet Sauvignon. Gamekeeper is the expression of Barossa Cabernet, lifted blackcurrant and blackberry notes, violets and varietal herbal leaf characters. A firm structure of ripe tannins, in support of savoury olive and dark bramble berry flavours, perfumed by the classic mintiness which is the hallmark of all things St Hallett. The Barossa Cabernet of choice to accompany simple and delicious dishes such as grilled chorizo and halloumi cheese as well as old favourites like steak and Guinness pie or a juicy gourmet beef burger.
This is one of our favourite quaffing red wines, it just such a well-crafted wine and really shows how skilled the winemakers at St Hallet are at making great wines for every pocket. The Shiraz, Grenache & Touriga grapes are sourced from mostly southern Barossa Valley, with red-brown loam over shale soils, perfect for highlighting fresh varietal characters.
Ripe red berry fruits and spice with a lift of floral notes are prominent on the nose. A seamless integration highlighting the best attributes from each variety in the blend. A spectrum of bright red fruits and supple tannin from the Shiraz combines with the generous juicy raspberry flavours the Grenache. Touriga Nacional complements perfectly with rose petal and floral-like spice. It’s what we call a 2 bottler!
White WineThis delicious Viognier from a dry vintage has an intense and fragrant nose of rose petal and ginger spice leading to a softly textured palate of apricot, peach and honeydew melon characters. All this lifted by a deliciously zesty acidity on the finish.

Tahbilk’s relationship with the varietals that call France’s Rhone Valley home can be traced back to our earliest days with a good deal of fortuitous luck leading to the establishment of that connection rather than a grand plan looking ahead over 160 years!
Prior to taking possession of what would become the Tahbilk Estate, one of the directors placed an advertisement in the leading newspapers of Melbourne, Geelong, Adelaide and Sydney for 1,000,000 vines. This resulted in the Tabilk Vineyard Company (as we were known then) receiving around 600,000 vine cuttings, among which was the white ‘Rhone’ varietal, Marsanne.
Marsanne being the solo ‘Rhone’ whites’ flag-waver for the Estate ended in 1990 with the successful planting of Viognier and Roussanne.
Marsanne will always be the undisputed leader of this trio, but there is no doubt that each of these two relatively new Estate ‘Rhone’s’ are showing that they have to have admirably embraced their adopted homeland.
White WineMade by Great Southern pioneers/icons, Plantagenet, this wine is vibrant yellow-gold in colour. Peach and nectarine aromas dominate with hints of nougat and lemon blossom, and a touch of waxy citrus leaf. On the palate, crunchy white nectarine gives a real sense of freshness, balanced perfectly with a mineral drive, creamy texture and subtle toasty notes.
Plantagenet’s 126 hectares of vineyards have been carved out of the region’s distinctive Marri soils, named after the massive native Marri, or Red Gum, trees that grow there. Fruit for this wine was sourced from two of the estate’s sites, Rocky Horror and Crystal Brook. Located 15km south of Mount Barker, Rocky Horror was planted in 1999 on soils consisting of deep gravel loam over ironstone with, with a north and west-facing aspect. Crystal Brook, established in 1988, lies 4km from Rocky Horror on a fertile mix of gravel loam and sand soils. All vineyard operations are completed with an active focus on sustainability in order to maximise biodiversity.
The Winemakers Reserve Black Shiraz is a multi-award winning wine and an outstanding example of Australian Shiraz with deep colour and aromas of blackberry and plum over toasty coffee and spicy oak. The palate is full-flavoured and intense with rich plum, blueberry and mocha notes. The tannins are ripe and dense imparting great structure and length to the palate.
Predominantly sourced from the vineyards in Padthaway, South Australia, where the soils are sandy loam over clay, formed on old lagoon sediments. These sandy soils lead to poor nutrient and water retention which helps to concentrate the flavours in the fruit. The vines are grown on single wire trellises, ensuring an open canopy. Drip irrigation is used in the vineyards to manage the water supply and reduce evaporation, as water is applied directly above the roots. The fruit was harvested during the cooler nights to retain freshness.
White WineThe Pitchfork wines match the Australian lifestyle of enjoying food and conversation in a casual atmosphere. Friends and family, good food and good wine with no pretension. The Pitchfork wines are made from 100% Margaret River fruit. They are wines that are clean and bright, expressing the quality of the fruit with no trickery or fancy embellishment.
Fermentation in stainless steel tank allows the full expression of Chardonnay fruit aroma without the influence of oak or lees resulting in a bright, clean tropical fruit bouquet. The palate is rich with tropical fruits, clean zippy acidity balances the sweet fruit character resulting in a bright fresh flavoursome palate. When good quality Chardonnay is used unwooded Chardonnay takes on a whole new level of depth and intensity.
A beautiful crimson-purple, edging toward a purple hue. On the nose, we find tomato leaves, violets and red fruits. It’s medium-bodied with more of those red fruits, pomegranate, and rhubarb. A little on the ripe side, with some green edges. There’s some lovely, beautiful crisp acidity. A gloriously dry finish. Velvety tannins envelop the wine. Light easy-drinking in its youth. With time, this wine will become a showstopper.
The Name: During the vine pull scheme in the 1980s, d’Arry Osborn refused to remove his old grenache vineyards. Today d’Arenberg is the keeper of nearly one-third of McLaren Vale’s old bush vine grenache, earning the title of ‘Custodian’ of the variety.
White WineIn the glass, this wine has aromas of white peach, subtle passionfruit and a hint of apple blossom. On the palate, it is medium-bodied showing good intensity of stone fruits with fine texture, great length and a lovely clean finish. Great match to chicken with creamy mushroom sauce.

This delicious and refreshing homage to Alsace is made from grapes whose vineyards are located in the Great Southern region of Western Australia. Characterised by the influence of the Southern Ocean, which provides breezes from the Antarctic, chilling the grapes and making it an ideal growing climate for Riesling and Gewürztraminer and Pinot Blanc – varietals that excel at these lower temperatures.
Riesling’s cool lime and minerality meshes with Gewurztraminer’s exotic spice and rose water. The softly textured palate has a long, refreshing acidity supported by citrus notes and rose petal on the finish.
The wine is called Stone’s Throw because the Riesling and Gewürztraminer are planted a stone’s throw from each other in the same vineyard.
A flashy sauvignon blanc offering lashings of tropicals such as passionfruit and gooseberry on the highly aromatic nose, boosted by an undercurrent of fresh cut grass and asparagus. The palate is refreshingly crisp and mineral. Vibrant citrus-like acid is a real feature. But this is accompanied by the generosity in flavour and a hint of added texture through some very light-handed oak treatment and a small dose of wild ferment. Balanced and long, served chilled this wine will hit the spot on a warm, sunny day.
Despite being a good match for fish, the name has nothing to do with them! A fishplate is a term for the nylon plates that collect grape bunches on a harvester and often break when navigating around the steep, windy vineyards.
Dessert Wine, Port & Dessert WineEstablished in 1860, Tahbilk is a historic family-owned winery, renowned for their Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and of course their Marsanne! Marsanne is one of the world’s rarest grape varieties originating in the Northern Rhone & Hermitage regions of France it is grown in only 3 other countries, Australia, America & Switzerland. Tahbilk holds the largest and oldest single holding of the variety in the world.
This beautiful dessert wine is full of citrus and tropical fruit characters that are complemented by lush marmalade, nutty and honeysuckle notes on a richly opulent palate, refreshed by a mineral-like acidity. Delicious with stinky cheeses or summer puddings or just because you enjoy life on the sweet side!
This wine is named after the practice of cutting the canes, where the fruiting cane is detached from the vine. The bunches of grapes are left to hang prior to harvest, drying the fruit which concentrates the flavours and sugars, resulting in a luscious wine.
Red WineApproachable, striking and modern, this red blend oozes complexity – with the Shiraz’s earthiness tempering the Grenache’s muskiness; and together they soften the subtle steeliness of the Mataro. The vineyard is located in the Frankland River area of the Great Southern, which is considered to be one of the most distinctive viticulture areas in Australia. The flavour of wines grown here comes from a granite-based soil. These gravelly soils also line the river valleys, rolling hills and lowlands. The vineyards are situated with a northern orientation, optimising the long sunlight hours, which promotes ripening and maturation of the grapes. T
