Cyrille Lecointre is an eighth-generation Angevin grower who recently took over Château La Tomaze from his highly-regarded father, Vincent, a former president of the Coteaux du Layon appellation. Joined by his American wife, Kimberly (who also teaches business English part-time), Cyrille has set about re-energising the estate with a conversion to organic (effective from 2017), streamlining of the cuvées and smart new labels. The Domaine, situated in Le Champ-sur-Layon, makes a carefully crafted Cabernet d’Anjou rosé alongside elegant Coteaux du Layon sweet wines.
