Pauliner

Paulaner Weissbier, 500ml, 5.5%

Munich, Germany

The No. 1 Weissbier in Germany and one of the world’s favourites. Made with the best ingredients, patented gourmet yeast from Paulaner’s own culture, as well as its unique brewing process which ensures its cloudy flavourful character. The unfiltered brewing method allows it to retain its natural authenticity along with the many vitamins, minerals and trace elements – the ideal beer for celebrations and lovely summer days in shady beer gardens.

Naturally cloudy and shining silky-gold in the glass under a really strong head of foam. At the first mouthful this weissbier classic has a mild aroma of banana. Finer palates detect a trace of mango and pineapple and the balance between sweet and bitter. Beer connoisseurs appreciate the fine note of yeast and the mild but sparkling mix of aromas.

Description

Paulaner Brewery has a rich history dating back to 1634 in Munich, Germany. The brewery was established by the Paulaner Order of mendicant friars, after whom it was named. These monks brewed a strong beer called Paulaner Salvator, adhering to the Purity Law of 1516. They shared their brew with the poor and sold it in their cloister pub. In 1751, the Paulaner monks were officially allowed to serve their beer publicly on the day celebrating their order’s founder, Francis of Paola. This beer became known as Salvator. To this day, the head of the Paulaner Brewery continues the tradition by offering the first one-litre measure of Salvator to the Bavarian minister-president at the Munich “Starkbierfest”.
