  • 2014 Miamup Chardonnay, Howard ParkWhite Wine

    2014 Miamup Chardonnay, Howard Park

    £1500
The most critical site selection is applied to vineyard sites for growing Miamup Chardonnay. Each location adds to the complexity of the wine due to the soils, aspects, clones and microclimates unique to the respective sites. Applied to this rich collection of choice, is the skill and enthusiasm of the Howard Park winemaking team that draws upon traditional winemaking methods and the use of fine-grain French oak to craft a layered, flavoursome and complex wine.
Sourced from the southern reaches of the Margaret River region, to capture the regional, varietal character and maintain fine natural acidity.  In the glass, it is vibrant in appearance and pale lemon in colour.  An array of subtle and intricate notes of dried pear, honeysuckle, lemon /lime citrus oils, peach, minerals, nuts and caramel greet the nose. On the palate, the wine is silky in texture with a lemon curd tart zest and richness. The talc-like minerality, fine acidity and guiding oak add length, definition and structure.

  • 2020 Mangan Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon, Cullen Wine Republic Heros White Wine

2020 Mangan Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon, Cullen

    £2495

We love Cullen’s Sauvignon/Semillon blends and this one from the Mangan vineyard is racier than the one from the Cullen vineyard.   Like the Bordeaux versions of this blend, Cullen’s Sauvignon Semillon blends have a capacity to age considerably.

On the nose, complex aromas of passion fruit and citrus combine with freshly cut grass. The textural palate displays notes of white flower, passion fruit and fresh citrus, which carry through onto the long, savoury finish.  Drink now to 2030.

Located adjacent to the Cullen vineyard in Wilyabrup, the 22 hectare Mangan vineyard was planted to Sauvignon and Semillon in 1995.

  • 2020 Margaret River Chardonnay, Cherubino Wine Republic Heros White Wine

    2020 Margaret River Chardonnay, Cherubino

    £3200

This is a fabulously complex wine and one of our favourites here at Wine Republic.  A focused, powerful and creamy wine with aromas of roasted nuts, peach and sweet citrus blossom complemented by complex oak spice. Citrus flavours and fine minerality lead to an extremely long finish. Made from hand-picked bunches of grapes that are naturally fermented in new French oak barrels.

Grown predominantly in the ’24 Vineyard’ in the Karridale subregion of southern Margaret River, the vines were planted in 1988.  Situated facing a sunny, northern aspect to maximise sun exposure the vines are influenced by cooling breezes coming from the Southern Ocean, with warmer westerly breezes coming from the Indian Ocean. It is one of the best examples of a maritime climate in Australia.

  • 2013 Chenin Blanc Dynamic Blend, L.A.S VinoWhite Wine

2013 Chenin Blanc Dynamic Blend, L.A.S Vino

    £3500

This is stonkingly good Margaret River Chenin Blanc.   In the glass complex aromas include peach blossom, honeysuckle and citrus, with subtle honey, almond and tropical fruit. The wine is full bodied and almost creamy on the palate with touches of lemon, lime, honey and cream. The finish lingers with hints of lemon meringue.  The Dynamic Blend refers to the differing small amounts of Sauvignon Blanc. and Viognier that are added to increase the texture, acidity and mouthfeel of the wine.

Fruit for the CBDB comes from 25 year old vines planted in vineyards in the Willyabrup region. Located in the heart of Western Australia’s renowned Margaret River wine region, Willyabrup is surrounded by open water on three sides and the vineyards are swept by pure, cool sea breezes blowing in from the Indian and Southern Oceans, retaining the aromatic perfumes of the grapes. The gravel subsoil ensures good drainage, while the high clay content enables good water retention throughout the summer for vine development.

All grapes were hand picked on the same day, in the early cool hours of the morning, then chilled to preserve finesse and aroma. The fruit was then hand sorted and cold pressed as whole bunches. The juice was left to settle and ferment naturally. Once fermentation began, the wine was transferred to neutral French oak barrels. 10% of the wine underwent malolactic fermentation to add complexity and creaminess. The barrels were hand stirred every two weeks to enhance texture. The wine was bottled after 10 months in oak.
