  The grapes are grown in 14 hectares of vineyards across three areas: near Montan, Egna and Tramin. Alto Adige is a dynamic wine growing region in northern Italy that combines a brisk Alpine climate, mountain viticulture and complex geology, with the brilliance of Mediterranean sunshine. The grapes come from vineyards planted in calcareous clay, limestone and gravel soils.

  An elegant Pinot Grigio showing floral notes with characteristic hints of citrus fruits. On the palate, it is well balanced with delicate savoury notes enveloped in a silky texture and delivers a long, elegant finish.

  The grapes are grown in the San Floriano del Collio, Gorizia, Cormòns and Mossa territories in DOC Collio. The soils on the hilly region are known as ‘Ponca’, which rich in sandstone with alternating layers of marl, which produces aromatic wines. The soils offer a good balance of water retention to nourish the vines throughout the summer and ample drainage if required. Gentle sea breezes come from the Adriatic Sea which keep the vines dry and healthy, while the Alps protect the vineyards from cold, northerly winds. Warm days and cool nights offer the perfect combination to allow slow maturation of the grapes, maintaining beautiful balance between natural acidity and sugar levels.

  Alessandra Felluga produces stunning, modern and authentic wines from old vines on her beautiful estate.

  In the glass this is an intensely flavoured Pinot Grigio with notes of pear, apple and herbaceous hints of hawthorn and acacia. Beautifully balanced on the palate with a refreshing finish.

  The Castello di Buttrio vineyard is situated on the hillside slopes at 142 metres above sea level, which ensures excellent air circulation to keep the vines healthy. The Pinot Grigio vines are planted in soils that are made up of layers of marl and sandstone of Eocene origin, known locally as ‘ponca’ in Friulian, which contains marine fossils originating from the Adriatic Sea. This soil produces textured and concentrated wines which are balanced by cutting acidity, thanks to the soil’s high pH and cool temperature.

  Elena Walch is a leading Alto Adige wine estate and this stunning Pinot Grigio is from a Cru vineyard in the hills overlooking Lake Caldaro, in the “Castel Ringberg” estate. The moderating influence of the lake and the strong afternoon drying southerly wind known as “Ora” contribute to the balanced, elegant character of the wine.

  In the glass a clear straw yellow colour characterises the Pinot Grigio Vigna “Castel Ringberg”. A complex variety of fruits, especially ripe pears and lime blossom, as well as spicy sage notes inform the bouquet.   Pinot Grigio favours cooler climates and finds its ideal habitat on hillsides. Livio Felluga’s vinification techniques give this wine finesse and elegance while preserving the faint coppery highlights that are Pinot Grigio’s hallmark.

  In the glass this wine is a straw yellow in colour with light golden hues. Intense yet elegant aromas of melon and candied fruit are complemented by stone fruit and floral notes, with a delicate mixture of brioche, honey and flint. Fresh and smooth on the palate, this persistent Pinot Grigio has great balance and a refreshing, mineral finish.

  The quality of the Felluga range is in large part due to the fact that the fruit is grown on their 200 hectare property, which includes some of the finest vineyards in Friuli. The fruit for this wine come from their vineyards in the Colli Orientali DOC zone. Vines are planted on hillsides and the soil is marl and sandstone flysch of Eocene origin.
