  If this lunch or dinner is a special occasion then look no further!  The soils of the Gimblett Gravels Vineyard impart a finely textured mineral quality into the finished wine, unique to Chardonnay made from this region.  Traditionally made from a single Chardonnay block planted with a variety of clones, “Les Beaux Cailloux” represents the ultimate expression of winemaking art.  Finely flavoured, complex and tautly structured.    After 12 years in bottle this wine is at its peak and truly magnificent as well as being incredibly rare.

  A savoury Pinot Noir with chanterelle mushroom and white truffle aromas leading to a lively, pure and beautifully balanced palate with a concentrated core of red fruit.

  Aroha, a term of endearment in the Māori language of New Zealand, carries the profound essence of love. In perfect alignment with its evocative namesake, Aroha is a labor of love, meticulously handcrafted from the union of two exceptional parcels of Pinot Noir, one of which is graced by the legendary Abel clone.

  These grapes are nurtured on the slopes of an elevated terrace within the Te Muna Road vineyard, where an ancient, long-dry riverbed once wove its course. In its wake, it left behind soil teeming with the richness and nutrients ideal for the cultivation of Pinot Noir. This terroir, imbued with history and character, serves as the cradle of Aroha’s distinct and captivating flavors.

  2019 Pinot Noir, Dog Point Vineyard – Magnum

  This beguiling Magnum of Pinot Noir from the excellent 2019 vintage has outstanding depth of colour for Pinot Noir displaying an opaque dark red-black core with a dark red-purple hue. The powerfully scented nose is dominated by ripe black cherry and dark plum aromas laced with anise over toasty cedar, light earth and spice. The palate is rich and concentrated that’s filled with dark and black cherry flavours, dark plums and anise underpinned by scorched earth and spicy cedar. Sturdy but fine-grained tannins provide some underlying muscle to the fruit. Excellent power with a long finish of dark and black fruits, anise, scorched earth and spicy cedar. Will improve for 6-8 years.
