With its red colour with purplish tints, this Chateau Grand Pey Lescours will give you a lot of pleasure. Very fragrant, it is adorned with notes of black fruits and undergrowth. The 70% Merlot gives this wine a wonderfully soft plushness. Flavours of black cherries and blackberries and bramble fruit. The remainder of the blend is Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, which adds structure and and earthy complexity. A true classic. It will perfectly accompany rich pies, red meat dishes (lamb, coq au vin, etc.) but also white meat (duck with orange, for example).

2019 VIK, Viña VIK
Original price was: £15500.£13500Current price is: £13500. 13% savingAdd to BasketVIK is a remarkable visionary Bordeaux style blend and can be considered as a Chilean ‘First’ Growth.
Elegant, silky and complex, with captivating aromatic intensity and freshness. The ripe, expressive fruit flavours are layered with violet and spice through to lasting finish full of finesse.
Created by Alex and Carrie VIK, the vineyard was born amidst the foothills of the Andes mountains, within the Millahue Valley, named “Lugar de Oro” or “Golden Place” by the native Mapuche people: 4,300 hectares of astonishing Chilean wilderness where they planted over 327 hectares of vines. Holism is the concept that best reflects the VIK spirit. It is the perfect union of humans and nature as an integrated whole. The holistic wines are the result of a magnificent, dynamic terroir and the best winegrowing and winemaking techniques and practices, coupled with superlative work to protect and enhance the environment, concern for human and social development, and a focus on art and architecture. Cristian Vallejo, Vik’s chief winemaker, is considered as a “terroir purist”, inventing its own concepts of barroir (barrels toasted with wood of roble trees that have fallen on their lands) and amphoir (amphoras made with clay from Millahue).

2023 Stonevik, Viña VIK
£16500Add to BasketA full-bodied blend imbued with tightly layered tannins giving a velvety texture and notes of blackberry, earthy notes, mushroom, graphite and herbal hints of sage. Delicious and long with chocolatey tones on the everlasting finish.
STONEVIK is a natural wine created in nature by nature. A blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carménère from vineyards where the best holistic, organic and biodynamic practices were used.
The grapes were fermented in toasted oak barrels with the Barroir method (with oak fallen from the property) for a period equivalent to a lunar cycle. The wine is then aged in handmade amphorae made by artisans using the same clay as VIK’s terroir. A total of 7 amphorae, 3 in honour of the universe and 4 in honour of the earth, aligned according to astronomical principles. The amphorae are semi-buried in the highest peak of VIK Park, over 1,000 meters above sea level, surrounded by centenary oak trees, in a sector VIK call “La Roblería”. It is there where STONEVIK lies under the wisdom of the forest and where, in each summer solstice, nature gives us this exceptional wine.

2016 Rubicon, Inglenook
£19500Add to BasketFounded in 1879, Inglenook is one of Napa Valley’s most historic and revered estates. Under the visionary stewardship of filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola since 1975, the estate has been meticulously restored to its former glory, with a focus on producing world-class, organically farmed wines from its Rutherford vineyards. At the heart of this revival stands Rubicon, Inglenook’s flagship wine since its inaugural vintage in 1978. Conceived as a grand vin in the Bordeaux tradition, Rubicon is a deeply personal project for Coppola, an expression of both legacy and innovation, crafted under the direction of Philippe Bascaules (formerly of Château Margaux). Named after the fateful river crossed by Julius Caesar, Rubicon symbolises a bold commitment to excellence and a reverence for history.
The 2016 Rubicon epitomises the elegance and structure that define Rutherford’s most iconic wines. Produced under ideal growing conditions, this vintage showcases remarkable complexity, balance, and finesse. The nose opens with layered aromas of ripe black cherry, crème de cassis, and dark plum, accented by nuances of black liquorice, sweet vanilla, and a hint of smoky cedar. On the palate, Rubicon is broad and deeply expressive, with velvety tannins that frame its core of ripe black fruit. There is a seamless integration of richness and restraint, leading to a long, harmonious finish marked by subtle notes of spice and graphite. A true collector’s wine, the 2016 Rubicon reflects both the power and grace of its vineyard origins, resolutely modern, yet steeped in tradition.

1999 Chateau Haut-Brion Premier Cru Classe
£47500Add to BasketThe 1999 Château Haut-Brion is intensely aromatic, rich and concentrated. A higher than usual Merlot content (60%) has resulted in a luscious, perfectly honed Haut-Brion with elegant mineral aromas and a unique complexity. Its strength lays in the finish, which is surprisingly long.
We recently (May 22) opened a bottle and were bowled over. This is a monumental 1st growth from a supposedly unfashionable year, we tasted it over 2 hours and watched it evolve slowly with cascading notes of blackcurrant, blueberry, black cherry, caramel and forest floor. Fresh and pure on the palate, with a richness over-laying silky tannins. The finish is extraordinary – lengthy, seductive interwoven with subtle minerality and flavours of cedar and spice. Beautifully pure and generous.
