Cuvée Royale Rose(Gift Box), Champagne Joseph Perrier

    £5500

Joseph Perrier Cuvée Royale Brut Rosé is a sophisticated champagne made from a blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Meunier grapes. It has a lovely salmon pink colour with a fine and persistent perlage. The nose is complex and intense, with aromas of red berries, strawberries, and raspberries, followed by hints of flowers and spices. On the palate, the wine is fresh and lively, with a perfect balance between fruitiness, acidity, and creamy texture. The finish is long and elegant, leaving a pleasant and refreshing sensation. This champagne is ideal as an aperitif or paired with seafood, sushi, or light desserts.

‘Aged on the lees for 3-to-5 years in cellars dug out of ancient Gallo-Roman chalk pits, this rosé Champagne is serious, and seriously delicious. Displaying a medium ‘vieux rose’ hue and narrow cordon, the wine exudes summer pudding fruits and fresh bread notes. On the palate, the wine shows finesse in its light body, zippy acidity and ‘crackling’ mousse texture. Nicely balanced with good length. Quite vinous, this wine is a lovely aperitif but will also work well with wild salmon or even light desserts.’ Patricia Stefanowicz MW

Grand Cru Brut Rose Champagne, Champagne Pierre Moncuit

    £5500

An old estate that has been family-run since 1889 located in the Grand Cru village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger in the Côte des Blancs. They have 20 hectares of excellently located vines under the guidance of talented winemaker Nicole Moncuit, who is always determined to pull the best out of the vintage with no single style. This rosé Champagne is crafted primarily from Chardonnay with a smaller proportion of Pinot Noir, following traditional méthode champenoise. Nicole focuses on expressing the terroir’s unique characteristics and highlighting the vintage’s unique character to make expressive, deep, and complex champagnes. While this is labeled as nonvintage, it comes from a single year, making it an incredible buy for Grand Cru Rose Champagne.

The wine offers up a lovely aromatic constellation of pomegranate, rhubarb, pâtissière, chalky soil tones and a lovely floral topnote redolent of violets. On the palate the wine is bright, focused and full-bodied, with good depth at the core, good soil undertow, frothy mousse and a long, well balanced finish.

2021 Chablis 1er Cru L’Homme Mort Vieilles Vignes, Le Domaine d”Henri

    £5895

Laroche is a famous name in Chablis, with family history dating as far back as 1695. Michel Laroche is the patriarch of the family and after decades as the director of Domaine Laroche he decided in 2010 to sell his stake in this business, keeping the historic vineyards that he had inherited, and created a family domaine with his children Margaux and Romain and his wife Cécile, that would be called Le Domaine d’Henri, in homage to his father.

2021 Chablis 1er Cru L’Homme Mort Vieilles Vignes is made from 50+-year-old vines in the Fourchame region of Chablis and specifically from L’Homme Mort (Dead Man)- named after a cemetery was found nearby containing Merovingian skeletons.

The wine is balanced, fine, and delicate with a nose of lemongrass along with the classic Fourchaume lavender.  The taste of the wine is intense, round, and full. It reveals tones of ripe fruit, citrus touches, especially the nuances of lime, stand out brightly. The beautiful creamy texture of the wine emphasizes the mineral nuances. The finish is long-lasting and sophisticated.

Champagne Extra Brut Blanc de Blanc CV1830, Champagne Valentin Leflaive

    £5900

The Leflaive family is renowned for its exemplary work across the most prestigious appellations on the Côte d’Or, in Burgundy. With this backgound it is no surprise Valentin Leflaive applied the family know-how with huge success to plot selections in the Champagne region from 2020. A new player in the Champagne sector, Valentin Leflaive is also at the forefront of wines provenance and transparency, with each cuvee proudly bearing its very own characteristics – while the letters express the terroir, the numbers indicate the year of the base and dosage.

A delightful Blanc de Blancs Champagne from Vertus Premier Cru (52%), Bergères les Vertus Premier Cru (27%) and Cramant Grand Cru (21%), the CV1830 has an attractive bouquet of stone fruits and lemon zest. Refreshing apple flavours and white peach notes lead to a long biscuity finish.

Fleur de Champagne 1er Cru Brut, Champagne Duval-Leroy

    £5995

This is the definition of an under the radar Champagne. A Champagne house with a storied history, top-quality vineyards and award-winning products, that no one really knows about!

Refined with graceful effervescence and aromatic complexity of almond, toasted and white floral notes. Precise on the palate with a silky texture and notes of citrus and fig through to a savoury finish.

In 1911, when the vineyard classification became official, Raymond Duval-Leroy had a desire to pay tribute to his predecessors and create an exceptional wine. He was the first to work on a Champagne which would bring together Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grape varieties selected only from villages classified as Grand Cru and Premier Cru within the Grande Vallée de la Marne, Montagne de Reims and Côte des Blancs regions. The first Champagne to be certified Premier Cru, this cuvée is composed of Chardonnay (70%) and Pinot Nor (30%); the blend has remained unchanged since it was created in 1911.

During the first tasting sessions back in 1911, Raymond Duval-Leroy distinguished an aroma of white flowers evoking the scent of the ‘wine flower’ in June. This led to the creation of the cuvée named ‘Fleur de Champagne’

Rosé Solera Champagne, Champagne Palmer & Co

    £5995

An irresistible rosé Champagne combining great precision, freshness and fullness with charming aromas of wild strawberries, red and black currants, along with beautiful hints of vanilla and cinnamon spice.

This rosé Champagne was produced using the solera method. Palmer & Co is one of the rare champagne houses to have adapted this well-known technique, often used for Spanish wines, for the creation of its champagnes. Each year, Palmer & Co adds red wines from the new harvest, which have been barrel-aged and typically amounts to 6-7%, to compensate for the wine drawn off. This perpetual reserve was started 40 years ago and is kept in stainless steel tanks. It forms an extraordinary library expressing a unique combination of red fruit and spice aromas and flavours. This rosé Champagne was then bottle-aged for two to three years on the lees, in the 18-metre- deep chalk cellars which imbues the wine with incredible complexity.

Craie Blanc de Blancs, Champagne Henri Giraud *Gift Box*

    £7500

Crafted with precision and purity, Craie Blanc de Blancs from Champagne Henri Giraud is an elegant expression of Chardonnay.  “Craie,” meaning chalk, pays homage to the pure chalk soils of the Montagne de Reims, which impart an unmistakable minerality and tension to the wine.

Vinified entirely in Argonne oak barrels, sourced and crafted under Henri Giraud’s strict sustainability and traceability standards, the wine undergoes fermentation and ageing on lees in these fine-grained barrels. This approach marries Chardonnay’s finesse with the nuanced influence of the forest, yielding a wine of both precision and depth. The lees ageing contributes texture, while the use of indigenous yeasts preserves the authenticity of its origin. As with all of Henri Giraud’s Champagnes, no stainless steel is used, emphasising a philosophy rooted in nature and tradition.

In the glass, Craie Blanc de Blancs reveals a luminous pale gold hue with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose is pure and lifted, offering vibrant aromas of citrus zest, white flowers, crushed chalk, and delicate notes of fresh almond and brioche. On the palate, it is incisive and elegant, with flavours of lemon curd, white peach, and wet stone, underpinned by subtle oak spice and a saline edge. The texture is creamy yet tightly coiled, with racy acidity and a precise, mineral-driven finish that lingers with poise.
