A classic since 1950, Parallèle 45 is celebrated around the globe and is one of France’s most recognizable wines. Parallèle 45 is named after the 45th parallel, a famous circle of latitude that marks the midpoint between the equator and the North Pole. It also passes over the cellars of Paul Jaboulet Aîné.

The Viognier, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Clairette, and Marsanne grapes for Parallèle 45 Blanc are farmed organically.   The wine has mouthwatering aromas of apricot, citrus, and white floral notes, leading to a full-bodied palate balanced by exquisite freshness through to a delicate, fruity finish.

This stunning wine from Domaine Lafarge is made from 100-year-old bush vines that are planted in Canet-en-Roussillon, facing the Mediterranean Sea on stony gravelly soil close to the foothills of the Pyrenees.

This wine has great aromatics on the nose with a symphony of citrus, white fruits and flowers bursting from the glass.  Mineral notes of wet gravel, crushed rock, flavours of pear, honeysuckle, vanilla, quince and white currant notes give this wine character and richness. • 2010 Cuvee Barberini Blanc, Domaine de la Solitude White Wine

2010 Cuvee Barberini Blanc, Domaine de la Solitude

    £4950

White Châteauneuf-du-Pape is one of the rarest and most prestigious wines in France. For most people, Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the southern Rhône Valley means red wine. This is understandable because only 7% of the wines are white.

This cuvée is a tribute to the founding fathers of the Estate. It is made with Roussanne grapes, picked the moment that they take on their golden colour, associated with Grenache Blanc and Clairette grapes. The Roussanne harvest is fermented in new barrels and the Grenache and Clairette grapes in vats. This wine is aged for 8 months on fine lees before being blended. It is an opulent wine due to the large proportion of Roussanne, but it also has beautiful freshness thanks to the Clairette. It can be enjoyed between 1 and 8 years after the harvest, or even kept for longer by those who appreciate mature wines.
