Pesquera is one of the most foremost and respected wineries in the Ribera del Duero. Highly sought after and each release is eagerly anticipated by fans around the world. This is the latest release of their Crianza. It’s made from 100% Tempranillo, grown in their own vineyards, and is aged for 18 months in oak prior to bottling. On the nose the aromas are of blackberries and plums with spicy hints and a touch of vanilla creaminess while the palate shows delicious ripe raspberry and cherry fruit flavours. There’s plenty of power here which, coupled with the rounded tannins, give it a nicely sleek and silky feel in the lead up to a subtly spicy finish.
It is a complex wine and will age well so drink now to 2030. Pair with rich red meat dishes from roasts to stews.
