2023 ‘ Keya’ Bardolino Chiaretto Classico DOC, Guerrieri Rizzardi

    £1595

Delicate in colour yet rich in character, KEYA is a vibrant and expressive rosé crafted from selected hillside plots in the villages of Cavaion and Bardolino, on the eastern shores of Lake Garda. A true expression of Chiaretto Classico, it embodies years of careful vineyard selection and stylistic refinement to capture the essence of this unique terroir.

KEYA (inspired by the first syllables of Chi-a-ret-to) is both a tribute to the wine’s roots and a nod to the Venetian heritage of Contessa M.C. Loredan Rizzardi, whose passion and leadership helped shape Guerrieri Rizzardi’s legacy with Bardolino Chiaretto.

On the nose, it opens with floral notes and fresh red berries, followed by a palate that is vivid, fruit-driven, and refreshingly dry, showing excellent energy and purity. The finish is long, clean, and savoury, making it both a charming aperitif and a versatile food companion.

Food Pairing: Perfect with rice and pasta salads, seafood, crustaceans, white meats, and even mildly spiced dishes such as Thai or Indian curries.

2022 Valpolicella Classico XVII, Guerrieri Rizzardi

    £1695

The 2022 Valpolicella Classico Cuvée XVII from Guerrieri Rizzardi is a vibrant expression of the region’s historic terroir, crafted with precision and elegance. It presents a brilliant ruby hue with youthful violet reflections, clear and luminous in the glass.

On the nose, the wine is fresh and expressive, revealing layers of ripe red cherries, wild berries, and subtle notes of black pepper. There’s an underlying thread of herbal nuance and a touch of beetroot that lend complexity, lifted further by delicate floral tones of violet and rose petals.

The palate is medium-bodied and silky, showcasing vivid red fruit—sour cherry, raspberry, and redcurrant—beautifully balanced by gentle acidity and soft, supple tannins. A clean, linear structure drives through to a dry, refreshing finish, marked by a subtle mineral edge and a final whisper of spice. Vinified and aged in stainless steel, the absence of oak highlights the wine’s purity and bright fruit character.

2019 ‘3 Cru’ Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG, Guerrieri Rizzardi

    £3900

Crafted from hand-selected grapes grown on the Rizzardi family’s estate vineyards in the prestigious commune of Negrar di Valpolicella, the 2019 3 Cru Amarone is a refined expression of tradition and terroir. In the glass, it opens with an intense bouquet of ripe dark berries, dried cherries, and notes of toasted spice, cocoa, and a hint of vanilla. The palate is generous yet poised, offering a silky texture, rich fruit concentration, and a long, elegant finish. Its freshness and balance make it remarkably versatile at the table, a standout Amarone that complements food as much as it captivates on its own.

Ageing Potential: Enjoy from 2023 to 2033 and beyond

Food Pairing: Ideal with hearty stews, game dishes, casseroles, and grilled or barbecued meats.

    £4500

A magnum of 2022 Pojega Ripasso Valpolicella by Guerrieri Rizzardi

Crafted from hand-harvested grapes grown on the historic Rizzardi family estate—established in 1649 and nestled in the heart of the Valpolicella Classico zone—this Ripasso showcases both tradition and finesse. The inclusion of 10% Amarone in the Ripasso process brings added depth and structure to the wine, while preserving the hallmark freshness and elegance of the region.

In the glass, the nose of the 2022 Pojega is aromatic and expressive, offering layers of ripe dark cherry, blackberry, and plum, with subtle hints of spice, dried herbs, and cocoa. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with a vibrant acidity that lends lift and drinkability, balanced by a supple texture and fine-grained tannins. The Amarone component adds richness and complexity, contributing to a long, persistent finish with notes of dark fruit and earthy undertones.

Multi-dimensional and refined, Pojega is a red that captivates now and promises even more with time in the bottle. A perfect companion to hearty dishes, but equally compelling on its own.

2017 ‘Calcarole’ Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva DOCG, Guerrieri Rizzardi

    £7995

Calcarole is the flagship Amarone Riserva from Guerrieri Rizzardi—produced only in exceptional vintages and in very limited quantities. Sourced from the historic marogne (dry stone-walled terraces) of the Calcarole vineyard, perched up to 230 meters in Negrar di Valpolicella, this prized cru benefits from a uniquely warm microclimate, calcareous soils, and an ideal southwest exposure.

Hand-harvested from naturally low-yielding, mature vines, the grapes are selected at peak ripeness and air-dried for several months in traditional wooden crates. After a slow fermentation, the wine undergoes extended ageing in oak, allowing its complexity and structure to evolve gracefully.

The 2017 vintage is already showing remarkable generosity and approachability. Deep and expressive, it reveals layers of dried cherries, ripe plums, spice, cocoa, and earthy undertones. The palate is rich yet beautifully balanced, combining intensity and concentration with lifted freshness and a long, refined finish. A rarefied Amarone that offers both immediate pleasure and cellaring potential.

Ageing Potential: Enjoy now or cellar through 2035+

Food Pairing: Perfect with braised meats, aged cheeses, game dishes, or enjoyed on its own as a special occasion wine.
