    2019 Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore, CorteLavel

    £2600

A full-bodied Valpolicella from Corte Lavel – a vineyard recently bought back by Marion. Chalky and mineral, yet full of forest aromas – berry, blueberry, moss, and earth. With time, other delicate red fruits appear along with herbal notes, and the whole wine softens and turns into a plush shawl.

    2019 Amarone Della Valpolicella, Marion

    £7500

Marion is a distinguished winery located in the Valpolicella region of Veneto, Italy. Under the guidance of Celestino Gaspari, who honed his craft under the legendary Giuseppe Quintarelli, Marion has established a reputation for producing wines of exceptional depth and character. The winery employs selective harvesting, partial drying techniques (appassimento), and long ageing in Slavonian oak barrels to develop structure and complexity.

The 2019 Amarone della Valpolicella from Marion presents a deep ruby hue with violet reflections. On the nose, it offers an alluring bouquet of crushed black cherries, lavender, and dusty earth. The palate is deeply textural and velvety, showcasing penetrating dark fruits offset by zesty spiced orange and mineral nuances. The finish is long and harmonious, leaving impressions of cinnamon, black pepper, and liquorice.
