Nestled in the Yerri Valley in northern Spain, the estate is guided by a philosophy of sustainability, low intervention, and respect for the land. Dry-farming, organic vineyard practices, and minimal use of machinery all reflect Tandem’s commitment to preserving the environment while producing wines of depth, purity, and character.
The 2015 vintage, considered exceptional, provided ideal conditions for the crafting of Macula, a bold yet refined blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%) and Merlot (40%). Harvested at optimal ripeness and fermented with precision, the wine captures the unique terroir of the region’s clay-loam soils and cool valley breezes.
On the nose, Macula 2015 is remarkably complex, unfolding in layers of clove, black pepper, and pipe tobacco, interwoven with earthy minerality, wild herbs, and subtle balsamic notes. A deep core of dark chocolate and black fruit adds richness and intrigue. The palate is full-bodied yet elegant, with velvety tannins and vibrant freshness supporting flavours of ripe blackberry, espresso, and savoury spice. The finish is long, persistent, and perfectly poised, showcasing the wine’s structure, balance, and ageing potential.
