Description
François Lurton comes from a the prestigious winemaking family behind a host of Bordeaux chateaux including Cheval Blanc and Yquem. François himself is the only one to have left Bordeaux behind and made his name in South America – most notably consulting with Catena in the early 1990s. Always on the lookout, François and his brother Jacques recognised the potential behind the relatively unknown variety Verdejo in 1992, and threw their weight behind it with a project in Rueda. Just a few years later, they acquired vines in the tiny Toro appellation to complement this white, pioneering both appellations on the world stage.
