Description
Domaine Edmond Cornu & Fils is a traditional, family-run estate located in the village of Ladoix-Serrigny, at the northern edge of the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy. Established several generations ago, the domaine is now managed by Pierre Cornu, who carries forward the family’s deep commitment to classic Burgundian winemaking and expression of terroir.
The estate spans approximately 15 hectares and is best known for its Pinot Noir from appellations such as Ladoix, Aloxe-Corton, Savigny-lès-Beaune, and Chorey-lès-Beaune. Many of the vines are pretty old, some over 60 years old, contributing to the intensity and complexity of the wines. Vineyard work is done with a focus on low yields, sustainable practices, and hand harvesting to preserve fruit integrity.
In the cellar, Cornu takes a minimal intervention approach: fermentations are traditional, using indigenous yeasts, and ageing is done in oak barrels (with a modest use of new oak) to highlight the purity and structure of the wines rather than mask them. The resulting wines are known for their rustic elegance, firm tannins, and age-worthiness, particularly those from old-vine parcels like the Vieilles Vignes Aloxe-Corton.
