Description
Domaine Hubert Lignier is one of the most revered names in Burgundy, located in the heart of Morey-Saint-Denis in the Côte de Nuits. This historic, family-run estate is celebrated for producing deeply expressive, age-worthy wines that reflect the finest terroirs of the region. Founded in the early 20th century, the domaine rose to prominence under Hubert Lignier, whose meticulous vineyard work and traditional winemaking techniques earned widespread acclaim.
Today, the domaine is led by Hubert’s son Laurent Lignier, who joined the family business in the early 1990s and has since taken full control of both vineyard and cellar responsibilities. Laurent continues the legacy with a thoughtful, low-intervention approach, emphasising organic farming, low yields, and minimal use of new oak, resulting in wines of purity and precision.
With approximately 9 hectares of vineyards, the domaine boasts an exceptional portfolio of appellations, including Clos de la Roche, Charmes-Chambertin, Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, and Morey-Saint-Denis, among others. The domaine also produces highly regarded Premier Cru and village-level wines, all crafted with the same level of care and integrity.
Domaine Hubert Lignier is known for crafting structured, soulful Pinot Noir that captures the essence of each vintage and parcel, wines that are accessible in youth but built to evolve beautifully with time. With a reputation for consistency, elegance, and authenticity, it remains a benchmark for serious Burgundy collectors and enthusiasts worldwide.
