Feudi di San Gregorio2022 Greco Di Tufo DOCG, Feudi di San Gregorio
Campania, ItalyVintage: 2022
This wine is made from the wonderful Greco grape that is grown on the famous Tufo (volcanic) soils that are believed to lend the wine its perfume and mineral complexity. This 2020 vintage has a rich and powerfully aromatic nose reminiscent of apricot, peach and tropical melon that leads to a creamy palate, harmoniously balanced with a refreshing minerality.
The beautiful Feudi di San Gregorio vineyards are spread out over lush and gentle hills in Sorbo Serpico, approximately an hour from Naples and Mount Vesuvius. The soils are uniquely volcanic, sandstone and marl. Each vineyard is closely monitored with a meteorological station and combined with the technologies of the new state-of-the-art wine cellar; they ensure that each vintage comes as close to perfection as possible. The soil in the vineyard is predominantly chalky Tufo soil, which imparts wonderful elegance to the resulting wine.

Description
One of the main protagonists in the renaissance of Southern Italian wines, Feudi di San Gregorio has carved out a reputation for making truly world-class wines in less than 30 years. The company began in the mid-1980s with the aim of safeguarding local traditions and unlocking the potential of key indigenous grapes such as Fiano, Greco, Falanghina and Aglianico.
The grapes were harvested at optimal maturity. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures of between 16° to 18°C, to preserve the varietal characteristics of the Greco variety. This was followed by four months maturation on its lees, adding complexity and texture, which took place in stainless steel tanks.
