  The wine has bright, crunchy red and forest berry fruits, with light spice on both nose and palate. The palate is well balanced with chalky tannins and modest depth. A supple minerality and attractive red fruit core leads to a vibrant finish.

  The fruit for this wine comes from 3.28 hectares of vineyards, including one Volnay plot by the name of ‘Les Longbois’ and various other sites within Puligny-Montrachet. The Domaine has practised organic viticulture since 1995 and was certified organic in 2012. Since 2005, it has also converted to biodynamic viticulture.

  2021 Volnay, Domaine Rebourgeon-Mure

  Rebourgeon has a growing reputation for seriously good pinot noir which is kind of ironic as the families’ winemaking roots can be traced back to 1552!   This 2019 Volnay has a perfect balance of tension, energy and flavour.  It is made from two parcels, one in Les Pluchots planted in the 1920s and one in Les Lurets, half Premier Cru and half Village Cru.

  In the glass, this Volnay has a lovely nose of dark berry fruit with hints of rose petals and blackcurrant.  The palate is medium-bodied with a fine grip, succulent tannins, with a mixture of blue and blackberry fruit  An all-around delicious wine.

  The 2020 Aloxe-Corton Vieilles Vignes from Domaine Edmond Cornu & Fils is a bold and expressive Pinot Noir that captures the essence of Burgundy’s northern Côte de Beaune. Nestled in the village of Ladoix-Serrigny, Domaine Edmond Cornu & Fils is a family-run estate with deep roots in the region, known for producing traditionally styled, terroir-driven wines across several revered appellations. Now led by Pierre Cornu, the domaine is celebrated for its sustainable vineyard practices, old-vine holdings, and commitment to classic Burgundian craftsmanship.

  Sourced from vines aged 40 to 60 years in prestigious parcels such as Les Cras, Les Brunettes et Planchots, and Les Morais, the 2020 Aloxe-Corton Vieilles Vignes offers a striking combination of power and refinement.

  In the glass, it reveals a deep ruby hue and a brooding aromatic profile of ripe black cherry, crushed blackberry, and dried violet, underpinned by earthy undertones of forest floor, leather, and a touch of roasted spice. The palate is full-bodied and structured, with dense dark fruit, firm but well-integrated tannins, and a rustic minerality that speaks to its silex and marl-rich soils. A tangy edge and vibrant acidity provide lift and balance, leading to a long, savoury finish.

  This Aloxe-Corton will pair beautifully with game, roasted meats, and mature cheeses, and it promises excellent ageing potential for those patient enough to cellar it.

  2014 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru, Chateau de Santenay

  Clos de Vougeot is one of the most famous grand cru vineyards in Burgundy and produces exceptional quality wines full of complex layers of flavour.   This 2014 Grand Cru is a rich dark garnet colour in the glass. This wine offers powerful and concentrated black fruit aromas with an elegant touch of oak. On the palate, flavours of black cherry blackberry fruits are complimented by subtle warm spice and move onto a long lingering finish.

  Awarded 95 points and a rare Outstanding status by Decanter in the 2016 Decanter World Wine Awards.
