2018 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva, Carpineto
£2475Add to BasketCarpineto makes some of Tuscany’s most reliably good wines and this is amply demonstrated in this distinguished Montepulciano. An extraordinarily elegant, ethereal wine delivering red fruits with hints of violet and oak spice. Beautifully balanced with an elegantly textured, velvety palate and a lovely, long finish.
The estate covers 84.5 hectares of dry-farmed vineyards among the rolling hills of the Vino Nobile region of Tuscany. The vineyards are planted with a minimum of 70% Sangiovese (known locally as Prugnolo Gentile), Canaiolo and international grape varietals. These vineyards are trained according to modern trellising methods with clones and rootstocks varying according to soil type. Planting densities here often exceed 8,500 plants per hectare, yielding wines of great concentration and finesse.
