  • 2018 Givry 1er Cru Rouge L’Empreinte, Domaine JoblotRed Wine

2018 Givry 1er Cru Rouge L’Empreinte, Domaine Joblot

    £3995

One of the greatest producers in Southern Burgundy, the Joblot family has been producing fine wines for over four generations. These sought after wines have limited availability.

L’Empreinte means ‘Footprint’ in French and this cuvée is the result of the best parcels of Domaine Joblot’s four Givry 1er Cru vineyards: Clos Maroles, Clos Du Cellier Aux Moines , Bois Chevaux and clos de la Servoisine.

This 2018 Givry 1er Cru Rouge L’Empreinte has a very expressive nose with pure, ripe red and black fruit aromas which lead to a silky, smooth palate with velvety tannins, great length and aromatic persistence. This is full of finesse.

  • 2018 Beaune 1er Cru ‘Clos du Roi’, Chateau de SantenayRed Wine

2018 Beaune 1er Cru ‘Clos du Roi’, Chateau de Santenay

    £5150

Taken from the Clos Du Roi 1er Cru vineyard, this Pinot demonstrates the best of the Beaune sub-region and is known for its wonderful ageing potential.

The 2018 Chateau de Santenay Beaune 1er Cru “Clos du Roi” is very dark deep garnet in the glass. The nose is concentrated with ripe black fruit married with delicate oak characters. The palate is full-bodied with elegant and big tannins. The freshness of the fruit and complexity make this a remarkable wine with great finesse and style.

This Premier Cru vineyard takes its name from the fact that it was claimed by King Louis XI during the 15th Century following the death of Charles the Bold, the last Duke of Burgundy. The soils here are free-draining with a mixture of clay and sand, and a subsoil that has a high limestone content. This forces the roots of the vine to dig deep to find the vital nutrients and water they need, which in turn results in a high concentration of flavour within the fruit.

  • 2018 Pommard, Domaine Georges GlantenayRed Wine

    2018 Pommard, Domaine Georges Glantenay

    £6295

This Pommard has a beautifully perfumed nose with precise notes of pure blackberry and black cherry fruit and a touch of clove spice. The palate is well structured with fine-grained tannins which result in a layered, elegant finish.

The Pommard is sourced from three different plots located in the commune of Pommard. The oldest plot has 80-year-old vines which produce small yields of concentrated grapes. The soils are marl and limestone with a chalky marl subsoil. The crops are tended to by hand and are consistently monitored during the year in order to keep the number of treatments required to a minimum.
