Description
Inglenook stands as one of Napa Valley’s most iconic and historically significant estates, with a legacy dating back to 1879 when it was founded by Finnish sea captain Gustave Niebaum. Located in the heart of Rutherford, the estate quickly gained acclaim for producing some of the most distinguished wines in California, setting early benchmarks for quality and innovation. Over the decades, Inglenook became synonymous with excellence, attracting global recognition and contributing to the rise of Napa Valley as a world-class wine region.
Today, under the stewardship of filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola, who acquired the property in stages beginning in 1975, Inglenook has been fully restored to its original grandeur. Coppola reunited the estate’s historic vineyards, winery, and brand name, returning the focus to producing exceptional, estate-grown wines with a sense of place. With Philippe Bascaules (formerly of Château Margaux) at the helm as Estate Manager and Winemaker, Inglenook is committed to classical winemaking techniques, organic viticulture, and the expression of Rutherford’s unique terroir.
