    To experience the exotic aroma and tastes of this Pinot Noir from the Waipara Valleys, we’d like you to join us on a magic carpet ride to a middle eastern market bazaar.  The bustling market stalls fill the air with the aroma of ripe berries and dried fruits. The spice stall owners spruik their wears, waving vanilla pods and pouring cardamom spices theatrically onto their scales in front of your nose.  All these elements combine in glorious cinematic technicolour for the tastebuds. Softly textured with ripe berry fruits and dried currants set against a backdrop of warmed spices.   Rub this bottle of Waipara Pinot Noir three times before pouring it, and the first sip might transport you there again. No magic carpet required.

    Aromas of freshly cut pear mingle with citrus undertones on this softly textured Pinot Gris. The palate is beautifully balanced with layers of poached pear, honeycomb and a touch of sweet pastry on the finish.

    The fruit for this wine is predominantly sourced from selected vineyards in the flood plains of Marlborough’s lower Wairau Valley. The eastern flood plain soils are nutrient-rich silty loam, renowned for delivering fruit-forward notes.  Once the grapes were picked they were immediately pressed to minimise skin contact followed by cool fermentation in with selected yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, in order to capture the desired level of fruity aromatics. A small proportion was aged in seasoned French oak adding complexity to the wine.

    The grapes was sourced from a selection of vineyards located predominantly in the lower Wairau sub-region. This is what Saint Clair regards as Marlborough’s best subregion for Sauvignon Blanc, producing wines with heightened expression. These vineyards sit on alluvial, silt soils. Each vineyard block was harvested when it reached maximum flavour maturity and physiological ripeness.

    The L5 Block is situated in a very exposed area right on the coastline of the Seaview Vineyard. It is the coolest, most extreme site on the vineyard and the subsequent wine reflects this terroir – mineral, salty, crushed oyster shell and wet stone are just a few of the flavours that characterise this unique wine. Serve chilled with seafood or chicken dishes.

    The grapes were harvested from a single vineyard in Marlborough’s Blind River area of the Awatere Valley. The Blind River area is building a very good reputation for its ability to produce wines with concentrated citrus expression. The climate for this area is typically very dry. The grapes were harvested at the peak of flavour development in the cool of the evening.

    This stunning Sauvignon blanc is made by one of the top New Zealand’s top wine makers, Ben Glover and is an homage to his late sister, Kate.

    It is a zesty Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc offers the best of what the region has to offer. There are lovely aromas of white peach, melon and tropical fruits. Wonderful tastes of tropical passion fruit, guava and mandarin on the palate as well as a mouth-watering succulence and a delightful persistence.

    As Jancis Robinson says: “a more complex Marlborough Sauvignon than most, with notes of greenery. A superior version of a well-loved style of wine.”

    Nicknamed ‘Bob’ by her family (some of you may recognize the Blackadder reference), Bob Short for Kate is a tribute to Kate Glover, an amazing young drama teacher and Ben’s sister, who passed away in 2018. Ben explains that he has looked to produce a wine that characterises the honesty, purity and confidence of Kate. These are organic, Marlborough wines, reliant on selected blocks from the family’s vines and exceptional fruit selection. Not to mention the skill of one of the region’s most well-regarded winemakers.

    The grapes come from the Te Muna Road vineyard in Wairarapa subregion of Martinborough, in the southeastern corner of the North Island. The vineyard consists of two distinct terraces, the lower terrace comprises young stony soils interwoven with limestone, which provides an excellent environment for Sauvignon Blanc. The cooler climate of Martinborough ensures the wine is aromatic with steely minerality while the rocky soils impart intensity of fruit. The region’s warm, dry summers and mild winters lead to complex and structured wines with subtle aromatics and an elegant finish.

    A full-bodied Chardonnay with bold flinty notes surrounded by peach undertones. The creamy palate has a wonderful balancing freshness and reveals layers of flint, lemon blossom and biscuity nuances complemented by subtle oak spice.

    The grapes are sourced exclusively from mature vines within a single hectare vineyard block called the Reed Vineyard. This beautiful vineyard is situated on an old riverbed, where the shallow, loamy Renwick soils are derived from stony alluvium and offer the wine excellent drainage. The vines are a mixture of Burgundian Chardonnay clones; predominantly they are clone 95, with a proportion of Mendoza clones and some clone 15. The fruit from this block has become renowned for delivering crisp, flinty flavours.

    The grapes were carefully selected and vinified with 100% wild yeasts. Some were vinified as whole bunches, to add complexity. Fermentation took place in a selection of new and seasoned French oak barriques, lasting 10 months where malolactic fermentation took place imparting a creamy texture.

Bright garnet in colour this Pinot Noir displays wonderful aromas of black and red cherries, forest fruits, strawberry conserve and spice. The palate is medium-bodied with cherry and plum flavours, a silky texture and a long dry finish.
