Sourced from six carefully selected vineyard sites in the Kumeu region, the 2023 Estate Chardonnay continues Kumeu River’s tradition of crafting benchmark Chardonnay that consistently overdelivers on elegance and precision.
The wine opens with fragrant aromas of lemon zest, subtle white peach and a delicate floral lift. On the palate, it is beautifully poised and finely textured, showing citrus-driven purity supported by understated oak influence – no new barrels were used, allowing the fruit and minerality to take centre stage. A silky mouthfeel and vibrant acidity lead to a clean, persistent finish with signature Kumeu finesse.
Elegant and immediately drinkable, the 2023 Estate Chardonnay also has the structure to age gracefully over the next 4–6 years.
This is a gorgeous Pinot Noir made from grapes grown across the Marlborough province: in the lower Waihopai and Wairau Valleys, the upper Brancott Valley and the Kekerengu Coast.
In the glass, it displays ripe dark and red cherry fruits, spice and leather with a hint of smoky oak. On the palate, it is full-bodied with round, mouth-filling flavours of plum, brambly fruit, dark cherry and savoury herbs. The oak integrates nicely with the fruit and silky tannins. Drink now to 2029. This wine is great with venison, duck, roasted beetroot, rare lamb and wild mushrooms.
This Pinot Noir delivers on all levels. The clay-rich soils located in the southern border of the Isabel estate allow for an intensely concentrated Pinot Noir in flavour combined with a firm structured backbone of elegant and sinewy tannins. The 2023 Rays Road Chardonnay represents a new benchmark for this distinctive limestone hillside vineyard in Hawke’s Bay. Hand-harvested and whole-bunch pressed, the wine was fermented with indigenous yeasts in seasoned French oak barrels, allowing the purity of the site to shine through without oak influence.
Aromatically vibrant and lifted, the nose reveals crystalline citrus, subtle florals, and a flinty minerality that is fast becoming the hallmark of Rays Road. On the palate, it offers remarkable concentration and textural finesse, with layers of lemon zest, white stone fruit, and saline complexity. This Chablis-style single-vineyard, limited-release, unoaked Chardonnay has been fermented and aged for eleven months in a concrete egg. The shape of the vessel causes the yeast to be in a constant state of flux, giving the wine richness and complexity, without any wood flavour to mask the fruit character. Concentrated baked yellow apple, peach, dried apricots and graphite with hints of almond and spices on the nose. In the mouth, it is full-bodied with a complex depth of flavour. Highly layered with a persistent, creamy, spiced apricot finish. The bottles are sealed with vegan wax.

The Reserve wines from Saint Clair represent the estate’s pinnacle wines – the best of the best. This 2021 has concentrated flavours of black cherry, blackcurrant, Kalamata olive, and perfumed wildflowers, that lead to an elegant palate with a structure reminiscent of finely powdered cocoa. The finish is long incorporating freshly roasted coffee beans, toasty oak and spice.
Ageing potential: This wine is drinking beautifully now or with careful cellaring will mature into a more complex wine that can be enjoyed for the next 8 to 10 years or beyond.
This vineyard site has been the foundation for some of Saint Clair’s finest wines. This is the vineyard where Saint Clair Family Estate first discovered the fruit to make their flagship Saint Clair Wairau Reserve Sauvignon Blanc. The fruit is sourced from a single vineyard in the lower Wairau Valley. The Block One site was previously part of the Wairau flood plain and is renowned for its deep, highly fertile, free-draining soils, which have been built up over time and help to produce the intensity of flavour in the resulting wine. The vineyard has a flat profile and is situated approximately three metres above sea level. It is now protected from flooding by a stopbank. Located in a slightly cooler site than the majority of the Marlborough Valley, the vines have a slower annual ripening period. The fruit is carefully monitored during the ripening stage and is harvested during the cooler evenings, at maximum flavour maturity and physiological ripeness.
A Syrah showing tremendous aromatic lift, with notes of lavender and sweet cherry rising from the glass. The structured palate shows wonderful balance and concentration.
Hawke’s Bay’s Gimblett Gravels winegrowing district lies on the ancient bed of the Ngaruroro River, which changed course in 1867 to expose the soils for possible viticulture. The relatively low altitude and proximity to the sea yet sheltered from the direct effect of the sea breeze, creates a temperate maritime climate. This location, altitude, and the stony soil’s warming influence make it the warmest site in Hawke’s Bay. The lack of excessive heat in the Gimblett Gravels is also a critical factor as it means the aromatic characters in the fruit, which contribute to the floral notes, are retained. The soils are composed of small to medium-sized greywacke stones interspersed with layers of silt and sand down to a depth of at least 40 metres. The stones on the surface absorb sunlight and heat during the day and then radiate heat at night, enhancing the vine’s ripening capacity. The stony soil structure allows for very rapid drainage after rainfall events; the low water-holding ability the vine’s growth to be controlled. The soils in this locality produce rich, ripe, yet elegantly structured red wines with a distinctive mineral, hot stone and fine dusty character, affectionately known as ‘Gimblett Dust’.
Te Kahu means ‘the cloak’ in Maori and refers to the mist that envelops Giants Winery in the Tukituki Valley. Legend has it that this mist was used to protect a mythical Maori maiden from the sun as she visited her lover Te Mata.

A delicate, supple and approachable Pinot Noir with aromas of dried lavender and wild thyme combined with red cherry. On the palate, flavours of crushed raspberry and orange zest are layered with savoury undertones.
The Pinot Noir fruit comes from the Wairarapa subregion of Martinborough, in the southeastern corner of the North Island. The soils contains layers of ancient weathered volcanic ash, which has reacted with the rocks and hastened their decomposition to a point where they can be easily broken. This soil produces exceptional Pinot Noir, which stylistically shows incredible complexity, a reserved intellectual feel, and great length.
