    The Leflaive family is renowned for its exemplary work across the most prestigious appellations on the Côte d’Or, in Burgundy. With this background, it is no surprise that Valentin Leflaive applied the family’s know-how with tremendous success to plot selections in the Champagne region from 2020. A proportion of the wines are aged in old Burgundy barrels, which have previously been used to age the Puligny-Montrachet and Montrachet wines of the Maison Olivier Leflaive, and which now help to bring out the complexity of these Champagne cuvées.

    A new player in the Champagne sector, Valentin Leflaive is also at the forefront of wines’ provenance and transparency, with each cuvée proudly bearing its very own characteristics – while the letters express the terroir, the numbers indicate the year of the base and dosage.

    The Grand Cru Avize Extra Brut 1740 is a pure and expressive Champagne, made exclusively from Chardonnay grown in the chalk-rich slopes of Avize in the Côte des Blancs. In the glass, it shimmers a pale gold with fine, persistent bubbles. The nose is precise and mineral-driven, opening with aromas of citrus zest, white flowers, and fresh almond, underscored by subtle hints of chalk and oyster shell. On the palate, it is taut and elegant, showing a creamy mousse that supports notes of lemon curd, green apple, and pink grapefruit. A delicate salinity and crystalline minerality carry through to the long, clean finish.     The 2023 Puligny‑Montrachet presents a bright, citrus-forward bouquet of lemon and sesame blossom, layered with delicate vanilla toast from just 20% new French oak.  On the palate, it is fresh and elegantly proportioned, with invigorating acidity and a minerally spine. Flavours of white peach and apricot glide across a creamy texture, finishing with a discreet woodiness and lingering charm.

    A rare magnum of Savigny Les Beaune ‘Dessus Les Gollardes’ from Pierre Guillemot.

    The vineyard was planted in 1957. It is 30% Chardonnay and 70% Pinot Gouges, a rare strain of albino Pinot Noir discovered by the great Henri Gouges. In the 1930’s some of his Pinot Noir vines mutated from red to white grapes. Monsieur Gouges propagated these cuttings and distributed some to various vigneron friends.

    A Magnum of Rosé Solera Champagne, Champagne Palmer & Co

    An irresistible rosé Champagne combining great precision, freshness and fullness with charming aromas of wild strawberries, red and black currants, along with beautiful hints of vanilla and cinnamon spice.

    This rosé Champagne was produced using the solera method. Palmer & Co is one of the rare champagne houses to have adapted this well-known technique, often used for Spanish wines, for the creation of its champagnes. Each year, Palmer & Co adds red wines from the new harvest, which have been barrel-aged and typically amounts to 6-7%, to compensate for the wine drawn off. This perpetual reserve was started 40 years ago and is kept in stainless steel tanks. It forms an extraordinary library expressing a unique combination of red fruit and spice aromas and flavours. This rosé Champagne was then bottle-aged for two to three years on the lees, in the 18-metre- deep chalk cellars which imbues the wine with incredible complexity.

The Grand Crus of Verzenay and Mailly are located at the heart of Pinot Noir terroir and produce wines with rich aromas of red fruits, spices, and saline undertones. The Premier Crus of Ludes, Chigny- les-Roses, and Rilly-la-Montagne add structure and freshness to the Pinot Noir.
