Sourced from three of the estate’s finest crus and matured in oak following the same regimen as the Riserva wines, 3 Cru is then bottled earlier to retain vibrancy and freshness, setting it apart with a more modern, food-friendly appeal.

  In the glass, it opens with an intense bouquet of ripe dark berries, dried cherries, and notes of toasted spice, cocoa, and a hint of vanilla.   Groot Constantia is the oldest wine estate in South Africa and has a remarkable history including having King Louis Philippe of France as there best customer!   Today they make exceptional wines in a sub-region of the Western cape called Constantia which is near Cape Town.

  Groot Constantia’s flagship red shows beautiful complexity on the nose, with ripe, rich flavours of blackcurrant, dark chocolate and graphite, enriched by notes of cinnamon and cedar wood from the generous use of new oak. The black fruit and sweet spice follow through to the palate and the firm structure promises excellent ageing potential.

  With its red colour with purplish tints, this Chateau Grand Pey Lescours will give you a lot of pleasure. Very fragrant, it is adorned with notes of black fruits and undergrowth. The 70% Merlot gives this wine a wonderfully soft plushness. Flavours of black cherries and blackberries and bramble fruit. The remainder of the blend is Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, which adds structure and and earthy complexity. A true classic.    It will perfectly accompany rich pies, red meat dishes (lamb, coq au vin, etc.) but also white meat (duck with orange, for example).

  Château de Valois is a traditional right-bank Bordeaux from a small property with a growing reputation.  Beautifully traditional they blend Merlot and Cabernet Franc grown in iron-rich soils just a stone’s throw from Chateau Figeac and Chateau Cheval Blanc.

  The 2016 nose is bursting with blackberries, exotic spice and hints of smoky oak and cedar. On the palate, the texture is rich and generous, with soft tannins. The finish has a good freshness and is full of lingering ripe fruit.

  The 2021 ‘Ode to Lorraine’ is a masterful expression of Elderton’s philosophy of excellence through blending – a hidden gem within their premium red portfolio. Crafted from the finest estate-grown fruit on the historic Nuriootpa vineyard, this wine celebrates the harmony of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and Merlot, sourced from vines dating back to 1894.

  In the glass, it shows a vibrant deep crimson hue, hinting at the richness within. The bouquet is layered and compelling, with brooding red and dark fruits, lifted by subtle notes of bay leaf and a whisper of earth. It is powerful yet elegant on the palate, revealing a rich tapestry of vibrant cassis, sweet spice of cinnamon and clove, and luxurious hints of dark chocolate.   2019 Le Charmes de Kirwan, Chateau Kirwan

  This is one of the finest Charmes de Kirwan, the second wine of famous Margaux property Chateau Kirwan, ever produced.
  In the glass is has a rich deep red colour with violet highlights, typical of young wines from great vintages. An intense nose blends notes of cherry and blackberry with subtle hints of chocolate. It is ample and unctuous in the mouth, with a distinct fleshy character. Understated tannins prolong the tasting experience while lending softness to the wine. Thanks to its mature aromas and velvety texture, this wine is already ripe for tasting, although its concentration ensures that it will age well for many years to come. Drinking Window 2022 – 2037

  A real purity of fruit is showcased in this elegant Margaux, with an abundance of blackcurrant, black cherry and fruits of the forest, complemented by subtle hints of cedar, toast and cinnamon. Elegant with silky tannins, it is perfectly balanced through to a lingering finish.

  The vineyard is located around the town of Cantenac, neighbouring Château Palmer and Cantenac Brown. Bordeaux enjoys a maritime climate, influenced by the sea, with warm summers and cool winters. The soils are made up of Margaux’s renowned free-draining gravel which contributes to the rich style of wine imbued with finesse and elegance. The vines are trained according to a Double Guyot trellising system and are green harvested in order to concentrate the flavours in the remaining fruit. The grapes are carefully selected and harvested by hand when they have reached optimum maturity.

It reveals notes of cassis, blackberry and small notes of gravels/terroir associated with nice touches of strawberry/red fruits as well as discreet hints of pepper, liquorice, cardamom and spices. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a good definition, juiciness, a beautiful frame as well as a good roundness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of fleshy/juicy cassis and crushed blackberry with touches of red fruits (strawberry, cherry) as well as discreet hints of liquorice and chocolate/tonka bean. Tannins are fine and elegant.

  This is the 2nd wine of Chateau Durfort-Vivens and is from the Margaux region of Bordeaux.  A refined and multi-nuanced Margaux wine with intense aromas of cassis and blackberries, with a well-structured body, polished tannins and delicate layers of oak.   Interestingly this wine was aged in Amphora.  The whole property has been biodynamic since 2016.

  Crafted from hand-harvested grapes grown on the historic Rizzardi family estate—established in 1649 and nestled in the heart of the Valpolicella Classico zone—this Ripasso showcases both tradition and finesse. The inclusion of 10% Amarone in the Ripasso process brings added depth and structure to the wine, while preserving the hallmark freshness and elegance of the region.

  In the glass, the nose of the 2022 Pojega is aromatic and expressive, offering layers of ripe dark cherry, blackberry, and plum, with subtle hints of spice, dried herbs, and cocoa. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with a vibrant acidity that lends lift and drinkability, balanced by a supple texture and fine-grained tannins. The Amarone component adds richness and complexity, contributing to a long, persistent finish with notes of dark fruit and earthy undertones.

  Multi-dimensional and refined, Pojega is a red that captivates now and promises even more with time in the bottle. A perfect companion to hearty dishes, but equally compelling on its own.

  This superlative 2nd wine of Château Cantenac-Brown is a rare beast indeed – with only 2500 cases made each year!  Aromas of pencil-lead and cedar. Smooth and silky with firm tannins and soft, cassis flavours.  A subtle, well made and altogether a rather morish glass of wine.

  This delightful vintage can be drunk now but will keep well for a few years more.

  2017 La Reserve De Leoville Barton, St. Julien

  The second wine of Leoville Barton, this traditionally styled Bordeaux has an expressive nose of forest berries with hints of cedar, coffee, and a touch of vanilla spice. Elegant and refined, with a long finish.

  Despite initially challenging weather, the 2018 Bordeaux vintage was excellent. The winter was unusually wet and remained so throughout spring. Hail also struck some vineyards during this period. However, conditions eased, allowing for a successful flowering followed by a particularly hot, dry summer with surprisingly cool nights, from June through to September. September brought welcome rains, reviving the vines. Harvest took place under ideal conditions, producing small, thick-skinned and highly concentrated berries, resulting in rich wines, with balancing acidity and a fresh, fruity appeal.
