  Simpsons’ Wine Estate creates fine English sparkling wines, which reflect the exquisite characteristics of their iconic, chalk terroir in the North Downs of Kent.

  Aged for 15 months on lees, Canterbury Rose is an elegant sparkling rosé delicate honeysuckle and fresh raspberry sorbet nose, illustrating finesse and balance. On the palate, notes of exotic fruits; wild strawberry and smooth lychee are balanced with tangy lime through to a clean, complex finish.

  Simpsons Wine Estate is situated in the Elham Valley; an unspoilt seam in the North Downs of Kent where the contours of the land, the climate and the soil are excellent for viticulture. The intensely lime-rich chalk soil forms part of the same chalk ridge that stretches from southern England through Champagne and on to Burgundy. The grapes come from the Roman Road vineyard, named after the route the Romans first marched when invading England in AD 43.  They are grown on south-facing slopes, ensuring heat accumulation in the day and cold air drainage at night. The vineyard is less than eight miles from the coast, providing a crucial maritime influence insulating the fruit against intense temperature variations.

  The grapes come from the Te Muna Road vineyard in Wairarapa subregion of Martinborough, in the southeastern corner of the North Island. The vineyard consists of two distinct terraces, the upper terrace comprising very old, stony clay-infused soils perfect for Pinot Noir. The cooler climate of Martinborough ensures the wine is aromatic with steely minerality while the rocky soils impart intensity of fruit. The region’s warm, dry summers and mild winters lead to complex and structured wines with subtle aromatics and an elegant finish.

  The Rebourgeon family has been making wine in Pommard for almost 500 years. Domaine Rebourgeon-Mure is a Domaine of approximately 7 hectares and is run by David and his father Daniel. The vineyards are almost all located in Pommard and the neighbouring commune of Volnay.

  This 2022 Bourgogne Rouge “Cuvée Maison Dieu” is a lieu-dit (named site) in the village of Pommard and as such is a declassified Pommard!  Indeed the vines are just under those of the famous Château de Pommard.  This all bodes well for what the wine is actually like in the glass…..  It has a generous bouquet with red cherries and raspberry fruit. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, crunchy red fruit.   This wine will be brilliant with dishes such as roast chicken, chicken tagine with olives, coq au vin, beef fillet with Morel or Porcini mushrooms, veal chops and hard cheeses.

  An irresistible rosé Champagne combining great precision, freshness and fullness with charming aromas of wild strawberries, red and black currants, along with beautiful hints of vanilla and cinnamon spice.

  This rosé Champagne was produced using the solera method. Palmer & Co is one of the rare champagne houses to have adapted this well-known technique, often used for Spanish wines, for the creation of its champagnes. Each year, Palmer & Co adds red wines from the new harvest, which have been barrel-aged and typically amounts to 6-7%, to compensate for the wine drawn off. This perpetual reserve was started 40 years ago and is kept in stainless steel tanks. It forms an extraordinary library expressing a unique combination of red fruit and spice aromas and flavours. This rosé Champagne was then bottle-aged for two to three years on the lees, in the 18-metre- deep chalk cellars which imbues the wine with incredible complexity.

  Rockburn takes its name from the rugged, rock-strewn, burn-scarred landscape of Central Otago. Situated on the 45th parallel, Rockburn shares a climate that is similar to Burgundy. The vineyards are surrounded by mountains to the west, whose seaward slopes are rainforest, receiving 5,000mm of rain per annum. To the east is a barren, moon-like landscape that receives less than 25mm of rain per year. Situated between these extremes, lay the Rockburn vineyards, which are producing Pinot Noir of stunning quality.

  The 2020 Pinot Noir from Pegasus Bay is crafted by one of New Zealand’s most respected family-owned estates. Established in 1986 by Ivan and Christine Donaldson, Pegasus Bay has become a cornerstone of North Canterbury winemaking. With deep roots in the Waipara Valley and over four decades of family commitment, the Donaldsons have cultivated a unique estate focused on producing wines of authenticity, complexity, and longevity. Their mature, own-rooted vines grow on free-draining, north-facing terraces composed of the ancient Glasnevin Gravels, a mixture of greywacke, silt, and loam, yielding low-vigour vines and intensely flavoured fruit.
