Domaine Georges Lignier, based in the village of Morey-Saint-Denis, is a fifth-generation family estate with roots stretching back to the late 19th century. Today, it is run by Benoît Stehly, the great-nephew of Georges Lignier, who has steadily elevated the domaine’s reputation by focusing on expressive, terroir-driven Pinot Noir across 16 hectares of prized vineyard holdings. The estate’s philosophy combines traditional Burgundian methods with meticulous attention to vineyard detail, producing wines of purity, structure, and age-worthy finesse.

Ten Minutes by Tractor needs little introduction, nor does the man in charge, Martin Spedding. A gently-spoken man with a background in finance and IT, in 2002, he finally acknowledged the fact that his true passion lay in wine. Despite his origins in New South Wales, he simply couldn’t get enough of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and would travel down to Victoria to immerse himself in Australia’s heartland of these noble varieties. In 2003, he visited one of his favourite small wineries on Mornington Peninsula and was delighted to discover that it was for sale. Without a moment’s hesitation, he snapped it up, and so began Martin’s journey with Ten Minutes by Tractor.
Trahere are a new limited release range of wines that are inspired by the high-density vineyard in Main Ridge and are the culmination of many years of planning, hard work and passion.
The 2021 Trahere Pinot Noir opens in the glass with a bouquet that is very fragrant, lifted, and fresh, showcasing red cherry, strawberry, and raspberry aromas, complemented by a hint of five-spice and a layer of autumn leaves, forest floor, and potpourri. On the palate, it is delicate, highly detailed, ethereal and texturally refined, culminating in a pristine and beautiful finish.
The 2021 Trahere Pinot Noir is sourced from a blend of estate vineyards: 50% from the high-density Spedding Vineyard, 38% from Judd Vineyard, and 12% from McCutcheon Vineyard. These vineyards are situated in the elevated Main Ridge area of the Mornington Peninsula, featuring rich red volcanic soils with deposits of ironstone. The high-density planting creates greater competition between vines, resulting in deeper root systems, smaller bunch and berry sizes, and significantly greater flavour concentration.

Aroha, a term of endearment in the Māori language of New Zealand, carries the profound essence of love. In perfect alignment with its evocative namesake, Aroha is a labor of love, meticulously handcrafted from the union of two exceptional parcels of Pinot Noir, one of which is graced by the legendary Abel clone.
These grapes are nurtured on the slopes of an elevated terrace within the Te Muna Road vineyard, where an ancient, long-dry riverbed once wove its course. In its wake, it left behind soil teeming with the richness and nutrients ideal for the cultivation of Pinot Noir. This terroir, imbued with history and character, serves as the cradle of Aroha’s distinct and captivating flavors.
This is an outstanding Pinot Noir from the renowned Brewer-Clifton. The 3D vineyard is nestled between Lafond and Ampelos in the Santa Rita Hills and was the first vineyard planted by the Greg Brewer and Steve Clifton in 2007. It is pure and elegant on the nose with expressive aromas of red cherries, candied raspberry and strawberry. The palate is expansive with flavours of sweet fruits, tea leaf and fine spices. Lovely structure and precision here. Incredible finesse and purity.
At Brewer Clifton they strive to remove the winemaker’s signature, allowing the voice of the vineyard to be the overriding expression. Only neutral barrels are employed and they strive for whole cluster fermentation, interestingly the fruit from each vineyard is handled identically from harvest to bottling, allowing the true essence of each site to be expressed.
They also farm with a focus of ripening the stems of the bunch alongside the fruit, allowing the cluster to be in harmony. Working with the stems allows for wines that are structured, earthy and balanced with the exceptional Santa Rita Hills fruit. The analogy they use is roasting fish or meat on the bone, the bone offers complex flavours very different than taking it off of the bone to cook it.
This beguiling Magnum of Pinot Noir from the excellent 2019 vintage has outstanding depth of colour for Pinot Noir displaying an opaque dark red-black core with a dark red-purple hue. The powerfully scented nose is dominated by ripe black cherry and dark plum aromas laced with anise over toasty cedar, light earth and spice. The palate is rich and concentrated that’s filled with dark and black cherry flavours, dark plums and anise underpinned by scorched earth and spicy cedar. Sturdy but fine-grained tannins provide some underlying muscle to the fruit. Excellent power with a long finish of dark and black fruits, anise, scorched earth and spicy cedar. Will improve for 6-8 years.
An intense, seductive and elegant vintage Champagne, with charming aromas of orange blossom layered with notes of yellow fruits, delicately spiced pineapple and tonka bean. The creamy texture is enveloped by citrus tones, nuances of brioche and dried fruits through to a deliciously long finish.

The Sanford & Benedict Vineyard is where it all began. In 1971 this was the first vineyard planted in what became the world-class, cool-climate Sta. Rita Hills appellation.
Bright, ruby red, the 2019 Sanford & Benedict Pinot Noir entices with aromatic spicy red fruits, complemented by notes of wet stone and dried herb. The palate delivers earthy raspberry flavours with lush, silky texture. The bright acidity and supple tannins give the wine great structure and length. To allow the vineyard to shine through, the winemakers take a gentle approach in the cellar, using traditional Burgundian techniques.
The wine was aged in French Oak barrels (35% new) for 14 months where it gained concentration, while allowing the tannins to soften. This wine is drinking well now, but has the balance and structure to age beautifully for the next 12 to 15 years.
Hommage au Pinot Noir by Champagne Henri Giraud is a distinguished cuvée that pays tribute to the house’s deep-rooted history and the emblematic Pinot Noir grape of Aÿ. The Giraud-Hémart family has cultivated vines in Aÿ since 1625, making it one of the oldest Champagne houses still managed by its founding family. This wine honours François Hémart, an ancestor of the Giraud family, reflecting the family’s enduring legacy in the region.
In the glass, Hommage au Pinot Noir reveals a radiant golden hue with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose is expressive and complex, opening with vibrant aromas of ripe orchard fruit, candied citrus peel, and toasted brioche. Layers of apricot skin, grapefruit, and subtle notes of salted almonds and crushed stones reflect both power and precision. On the palate, the wine is structured and textural, offering a beautifully balanced interplay between richness and freshness. Its creamy mouthfeel is lifted by a saline minerality and taut acidity, leading to a long, focused finish with hints of spice and dried flowers. Crafted predominantly from Pinot Noir with a portion of perpetual reserve wine, this Blanc de Noirs is both a celebration of terroir and a tribute to the artistry of the Giraud family.
Dame Jane Rosé is a striking and elegant expression of Champagne Henri Giraud’s deep connection to Pinot Noir and its Aÿ Grand Cru terroir. Named in tribute to the traditional terracotta amphorae (known as “Dame-Jane” in French) used in its ageing, this rosé stands apart for its purity, texture, and unique approach to maturation.
Sourced exclusively from the historic chalk and clay-rich vineyards of Aÿ, this cuvée is composed predominantly of Pinot Noir, with a small portion of Chardonnay. What makes Dame Jane truly singular is its vinification and ageing in terracotta amphorae, which allows the wine to breathe and evolve gently without imparting oak character. This natural micro-oxygenation enhances purity, amplifies minerality, and preserves the vibrancy of the fruit, resulting in a rosé Champagne that is both structured and ethereal.

Paringa’s and arguably Australias top Pinot Noir – made from barrels which were selected as clearly superior at the time of blending and bottling. The wine has rich powerful aromas of spice and dark cherry, combined with charry oak, secondary barrel-ferment mocha/coffee characters that will integrate further to become more Burgundian like with bottle age. On the palate the wine has rich ripe fruit, firm fine-grained tannins helping provide excellent texture and length.

A blend of over 100 Crus, this cuvée is a true voyage of the senses across the terroir of Champagne, from the Marne Valley to south of the Aisne. The composition was completed with 35% reserve wines in order to preserve the consistency of the Champagne Collet house style, year after year. This cuvée reached full maturity after a minimum of three years of bottle ageing in the historic, limestone cellars in Ay, which are centuries old.
The 100% Pinot Meunier 2020 Le Ciergelot Blanc de Noirs Brut Nature is a distinguished expression from Champagne Joseph Perrier, a house founded in 1825 in Châlons-en-Champagne. This vintage Champagne showcases the unique terroir of the Marne Valley, reflecting the house’s commitment to excellence and tradition.
In the glass, the Champagne exhibits a very pale pink hue. The nose is rich and complex, revealing aromas of red fruits, grenadine, violets, and eucalyptus. On the palate, it offers a soft and silky attack, leading to flavours of yellow fruits. The finish is persistent with refreshing zesty notes, providing a harmonious and elegant experience.
An intense and luminous peachy pink rosé delivers delicate aromas of mandarin, peach, mulberries and raspberries. Refreshing, with a richness of fruit and a subtle hint of cocoa which is supported by a round, supple and velvety structure. The beautiful, silky texture is sustained by an elegant effervescence.
The grapes for this cuvée come from 20 Crus from the Grand and Premier Crus sites of the Champagne region. The Chardonnay comes predominantly from the Premier Cru of Vertus and contributes freshness and lemony notes, while the mineral dimension and flinty aromas, come from the Cru of Villers Marmery, which has a limestone soil. The Grands Crus and Premiers Crus villages of Chouilly, Avize, Oger and Vaudemange, complete the blend with strength and complexity. The Pinot Noir comes from the Grands Cru and Premiers Cru villages of Ay, Hautvillers, Avenay Val d’Or and Louvois; it produces light, tender and fruity wines, while the Pinot Meunier imparts a roundness and suppleness. A unique blend of terroirs, producing a unique Rosé Champagne.
