An easy-drinking ‘Classic’ Margaret River wine style with wonderful purity – crunchy, fruit-driven, lip-smacking dry with crisp acidity and a clean refreshing finish.

  2020 Valencay ‘Le Claux Delorme’, Domaines Minchin

  Bright aromas of citrus zest, peach and pear are complemented by hints of eucalyptus and a distinctive minerality. Refreshing and beautifully balanced, with citrus and floral notes leading a long, elegant finish.

  Valençay became an AOC appellation in 2003 and is situated in the eastern part of the Loire Valley, approximately 60 miles west of Sancerre. The terroir is characterised by clay, limestone and flinty soils which impart the distinctive mineral characters to the wine. The region is influenced by the northern, cool climate, resulting in lively wines from grapes with characteristic high levels of acidity. Domaine Minchin is certified by Haute Valeur Environmentale and the vineyards are managed according to a strict sustainable philosophy, known as la lutte raisonnée. The vineyard is planted with grass, and the soil is tilled and worked to ensure the health and vigour of the vine, while encouraging beneficial biodiversity.

  2023 ‘Origin’ Sauvignon Blanc, Saint Clair

  Tropical aromas of passionfruit, guava and blackcurrant combine with nettle and subtle chalky mineral notes. The rich, full palate with grapefruit and blackcurrant leaf is enveloped in green notes of nettle and pepper and a delicate sea salt character, through to a long, mineral finish.

  The grapes was sourced from a selection of vineyards located predominantly in the lower Wairau sub-region. This is what Saint Clair regards as Marlborough’s best subregion for Sauvignon Blanc, producing wines with heightened expression. These vineyards sit on alluvial, silt soils. Each vineyard block was harvested when it reached maximum flavour maturity and physiological ripeness.

  2022 BOB Short for Kate Sauvignon Blanc, Ben Glover Family Wines

  This stunning Sauvignon blanc is made by one of the top New Zealand’s top wine makers, Ben Glover and is an homage to his late sister, Kate.

  It is a zesty Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc offers the best of what the region has to offer. There are lovely aromas of white peach, melon and tropical fruits. Wonderful tastes of tropical passion fruit, guava and mandarin on the palate as well as a mouth-watering succulence and a delightful persistence.

  As Jancis Robinson says: “a more complex Marlborough Sauvignon than most, with notes of greenery. A superior version of a well-loved style of wine.”

  Nicknamed ‘Bob’ by her family (some of you may recognize the Blackadder reference), Bob Short for Kate is a tribute to Kate Glover, an amazing young drama teacher and Ben’s sister, who passed away in 2018. Ben explains that he has looked to produce a wine that characterises the honesty, purity and confidence of Kate. These are organic, Marlborough wines, reliant on selected blocks from the family’s vines and exceptional fruit selection. Not to mention the skill of one of the region’s most well-regarded winemakers.

  2024 Sauvignon Blanc, Main Divide by Pegasus Bay

  Main Divide is the second label of Pegasus Bay Winery, a family-owned estate situated in North Canterbury, New Zealand. The winery is renowned for producing wines that express the unique terroir of the region, characterised by its cool climate and diverse soils. The 2024 Sauvignon Blanc is crafted from grapes sourced from the Te Hau vineyard on Georges Road and a local North Canterbury grower.

  The 2024 Main Divide Sauvignon Blanc displays a pale lemon hue. The nose is vibrant, offering a medley of grapefruit, lemongrass, jalapeño, and passionfruit, accented by citrus blossom and crushed thyme. As these aromas settle, a steely, mineral undertone emerges. On the palate, the wine is tightly coiled, exhibiting a zesty and energetic mouthfeel with vibrant acidity that flows through to a lengthy, salivating finish.

  2021 Sauvignon Blanc, Groot Constantia

  Groot Constantia is the oldest wine estate in South Africa and has a remarkable history including having King Louis Philippe of France as there best customer!   Today they make exceptional wines in a sub-region of the Western cape called Constantia which is near Cape Town.

  This Sauvignon Blanc from Groot Constantia is consistently one of South Africa’s best and is highly awarded every year – indeed the 2019 vintage was named the Worlds Best Sauvignon Blanc at the 2020 International Wine Challenge.   The 2020 vintage has a very similar flavour profile and is another triumph from Groot Constantia.

  The wine shows great complexity on the nose, dominated by ripe fruit like white peach, passion fruit and guava with a distinct grassy, herbal undertone and a hint of lemon. The palate has intensity and length, balanced by fresh natural acidity.

  The vineyards for this wine are located on the eastern side of Table Mountain with a climate that is best described as Mediterranean – this coupled with cooling breezes from the Atlantic Ocean encourages balance and complexity in the grapes. The climate, combined with the cool southern slopes and deep mountain soils provide the ideal setting for the making of this top-quality wine.

  Château Lestrille holds the Haute Valeur Environmentale (HVE) certification, which officially recognises the environmental performance of winegrowers, including biodiversity conservation, plant protection strategies, managed fertiliser use and water resource management. The vineyard is cultivated using sustainable methods and reducing the amount of chemicals used in order to respect the land and its environment. The soils are predominantly clay and limestone, which produce elegant wines.

  The grapes come from the Te Muna Road vineyard in Wairarapa subregion of Martinborough, in the southeastern corner of the North Island. The vineyard consists of two distinct terraces, the lower terrace comprises young stony soils interwoven with limestone, which provides an excellent environment for Sauvignon Blanc. The cooler climate of Martinborough ensures the wine is aromatic with steely minerality while the rocky soils impart intensity of fruit.   This is Lake Chalice’s flagship single vineyard Sauvignon Blanc from Dillons Point  Inviting ripe grapefruit aromas are neatly framed by notes of blackcurrant leaf, with subtle flinty highlights. Generous and full, layered with grapefruit and blackcurrant, this wine is underpinned by salt and mineral notes through to a long, concentrated finish.

  The grapes are sourced from a single vineyard in the rich loamy soils of the Dillons Point area of Marlborough’s Lower Wairau Valley. Shaped by a slow convergence of tectonic plates, the Wairau Valley offers a veritable patchwork of contrasting soil types linking the Alps in the west with the Pacific Ocean in the east. The eastern flood plain soils are nutrient-rich silty loam, renowned for delivering Marlborough’s iconic tropical flavoured Sauvignon Blanc.
