    2023 Holism Garnacha, Swartberg Wingerde

Original price was: £2695.Current price is: £2295. 15% saving

Rooted in the rugged beauty of the Piekenierskloof plateau and inspired by the philosophy of Holism – where every element is interconnected and greater than the sum of its parts – this wine is an expressive and thoughtful take on Garnacha. From old bush vines planted at over 600 metres altitude, the fruit benefits from the plateau’s cooling ocean mists and extreme growing conditions, resulting in grapes of remarkable character and resilience.

In the glass, the 2023 Holism Garnacha is a study in elegance and vitality. Pale ruby in colour, it reveals aromas of wild strawberries, red cherries, and a hint of rose petal, layered with subtle earthy and herbal undertones. The palate is bright, pure, and vibrant, showcasing a light-bodied style with a crunchy acidity, fine tannins, and a gentle spiciness that adds depth without overpowering.

This is not your typical Grenache. Rather than bold and heady, Holism Garnacha is delicate, refined, and food-friendly, expressing the harmony between vine, soil, and sky – an authentic reflection of the Swartland’s northern frontier.

    2022 GSM, Elderton

Original price was: £2695.Current price is: £2350. 13% saving

The 2022 GSM from Elderton is a vibrant and expressive red blend that pays homage to the Barossa’s Rhône-inspired heritage while showcasing the modern elegance of the region’s winemaking. Crafted entirely from fruit grown on Elderton’s Greenock Vineyard, this blend of Grenache, Shiraz, and Mataro captures the natural synergy between these classic varieties, delivering a wine of both charm and character.

In the glass, the nose is lifted and inviting, with aromas of spiced plum, red berries, and a seductive hint of musk. On the palate, juicy raspberry fruit meets subtle savoury undertones, balanced by a creamy, textured mid-palate that adds softness and flow. The Grenache-driven core lends both power and finesse, while Shiraz and Mataro round out the structure with depth and spice.

Matured for seven months in older French puncheons, the oak influence is subtle, allowing the purity of the fruit to shine. The result is a bright, elegant, and textural wine with a long, polished finish and an effortless drinkability.

Perfect for enjoying now, the 2022 GSM also has the structure and balance to cellar gracefully for 5+ years.

2019 Primitivo di Manduria Riserva ‘Anniversario 62’, San Marzano

Original price was: £2895.Current price is: £2395. 17% saving

This wine is made in honour of the 19 winemakers who founded “Cantine San Marzano” in 1962.  A long time has passed since then, yet their old vines still produce exceptional fruit.

This 2018 vintage has deep and complex flavours of prunes, black cherry jam, spice and tobacco that deliciously weave through the full-bodied palate with its velvety texture and long, complex finish of cocoa, coffee and vanilla bean.

The grapes come from the central area of D.O.P. “Primitivo di Manduria”, where they are grown in very old vineyards in San Marzano and Sava. They are planted at a density of 5,000 bush vines per hectare. The soil is mainly red with a fine texture and is generally calcareous with few emerging rocks. The renowned red hue of the soils is due to the presence of iron oxides. The climate is characterised by high temperatures all year round, very little rainfall and a wide diurnal temperature range, which has a positive influence on the quality of the grapes, concentrating the flavours in the berries.

Original price was: £3100.Current price is: £2500. 19% saving

This stunning wine is produced from 35+ year old Chardonnay vines in the Chablis appellation using the Méthode Ancestrale meaning that the alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats and bottled before aging with the CO2 necessary for the long haul already in the bottle.
Aged on its lees for 36 months, it is then disgorged with no added sugar.
821 refers to the minimum total number of days necessary to produce this wine from the beginning of the growing season to the moment the bottle leaves the cellar.
Delightful toast and citrus notes with some exotic tinges lead into a serious wine with high mineral tension, full fruit in the middle and a very fine and persistent bead. This is an impressive wine that will surprise many.

The namesake of this wine is the historic mountain peak upon which Delaire Graff Estate is situated. Originally named Bootmanskop, meaning ‘Boat Man’s Peak’, the picturesque Botmaskop mountain, with its expansive views over the Cape Peninsula and the Atlantic Ocean, served as the lookout point for the Huguenots who had settled in nearby Franschhoek. Sourced from the estate’s finest parcels of Grenache and Mourvèdre, alongside the oldest plantings of Rolle, this cuvée showcases both the depth and finesse that Provence rosé can achieve.

Harvested by hand at dawn to preserve freshness, each varietal is pressed and vinified separately in small 500L ovoid vats, an artisanal approach that enhances texture and aromatic precision. After extended ageing on fine lees, the wine emerges with a luminous, naturally pale hue and a delicately layered bouquet of wild strawberry, white peach, rose petal, and citrus zest. On the palate, it is poised and structured, unfolding with notes of ripe orchard fruit, hints of spice, and a subtle mineral backbone that carries through to a long, savoury finish. Trahere are a new limited release range of wines that are inspired by the high-density vineyard in Main Ridge and are the culmination of many years of planning, hard work and passion.

The 2021 Trahere Chardonnay is a masterclass in precision and elegance. A mineral core provides a foundation from beginning to end, culminating in a long, refined finish.

The Trahere Chardonnay is sourced from high-density vineyards in Main Ridge, specifically the Spedding and Gabrielle Vineyards, planted at 12,120 vines per hectare. These vineyards sit high within the beautiful valleys stretching from the lower eastern reaches of Arthur’s Seat to Western Port, featuring rich red volcanic soils with deposits of ironstone. The high-density planting creates greater competition between vines, resulting in deeper root systems, smaller bunch and berry sizes, and significantly greater flavour concentration.

    2019 VIK, Viña VIK

Original price was: £15500.Current price is: £13500. 13% saving

VIK is a remarkable visionary Bordeaux style blend and can be considered as a Chilean ‘First’ Growth.

Elegant, silky and complex, with captivating aromatic intensity and freshness. The ripe, expressive fruit flavours are layered with violet and spice through to lasting finish full of finesse.

Created by Alex and Carrie VIK, the vineyard was born amidst the foothills of the Andes mountains, within the Millahue Valley, named “Lugar de Oro” or “Golden Place” by the native Mapuche people: 4,300 hectares of astonishing Chilean wilderness where they planted over 327 hectares of vines. Holism is the concept that best reflects the VIK spirit. It is the perfect union of humans and nature as an integrated whole. The holistic wines are the result of a magnificent, dynamic terroir and the best winegrowing and winemaking techniques and practices, coupled with superlative work to protect and enhance the environment, concern for human and social development, and a focus on art and architecture. Cristian Vallejo, Vik’s chief winemaker, is considered as a “terroir purist”, inventing its own concepts of barroir (barrels toasted with wood of roble trees that have fallen on their lands) and amphoir (amphoras made with clay from Millahue).
