  A complex and beautifully balanced Pinot Noir, with layers of fresh and dried fruit, toasty, nutmeg spice and earthy notes, which seamlessly flow like fine silk through to an everlasting finish.

  2021 was an excellent vintage. The cooler growing season, with perfect day and night temperatures, resulted in lovely natural balance. No manipulation in the vineyard was required, this vintage has produced some of the best fruit the vineyard has seen.

  Excelsus, Latin for “eminent,” is produced only in excellent vintages.

  This highly rated Super Tuscan from the iconic Banfi estate is an intense and deep wine showing a rich and complex nose, with fruity hints of cherry and raspberries, accompanied by notes of aromatic herbs and toasted almonds. In the mouth, it is broad, and shows all its grandeur, with sweet tannins and a very persistent flavour.

Inky black, the wine has strong classic bay leaf and earthy cabernet tones. Very focused, mouth filling with very fine tannins. Oak is supporting the intense fruit.   Having celebrated their 100th year of trading in 2013, Barros Port is undoubtedly one of the most prestigious companies producing and trading in Port. Much of their success comes from Colheita Ports – old Tawnies from a single year matured in cask for a minimum period of seven years. Their expertise in Colheita Ports has established them as the stand out producer of this style. Barros leaves their Colheita Ports to mature in cask until being hand bottled to order. The loss of wine from evaporation (known as the ‘Angel’s Share’) is much higher in comparison to bottle ageing. It is a sacrifice they are willing to make and one that helps them achieve unsurpassed quality in their Colheita wines.

  This 1998 Colheita is exceptional.  In the glass, it has bright brown-tawny colour with slight reflexes of red. The wine reveals a rich and elegant nose, combining the dried fruits aromas with the aromatic wood notes. Soft and silky in the taste, full of ripe figs and sweet flavours. A sensation of depth, in an elegant and distinctive style.  Exceptional.

  2015 Estate Pinot Noir, Paringa Estate

  A breath-taking Pinot Noir with extraordinary texture, elegance and poise. Classic aromas of red and dark cherries mingle with hints of spice. The palate is structured yet elegant with excellent fruit weight and firm tannins. The long, complex, savoury finish is characteristic of this excellent 2015 vintage.

  The vineyard is set in the classic cool climate subregion of Red Hill at an altitude of 146 metres above sea level. The Pinot Noir vines are aged between 15 and 22 years; six clones are planted each with subtle characteristics which impart complexity to the resulting wine. The soil is a deep red volcanic clay that allows dry farming, without irrigation. Founder, Lindsay McCall, still tends to the vineyard characterised by its distinctive Lyre or ‘U’ trellis system which sits on an elaborate steel frame assembly.

Fruit was predominantly sourced from two mature, dry grown vineyards; Timber Creek, in the Wilyabrup subregion; and Victory Point in the Treeton subregion of Margaret River and was supplemented with a small amount of Malbec from the Stevens Road vineyard in Wallcliffe.   2018 Wolta Wolta Clare Valley Riesling, Loosen Barry

  The friendship between Ernst Loosen, of the Dr. Loosen Estate in Germany, and Peter Barry, of Jim Barry Wines, Australia, began in 1995 at the London Wine Fair. Forged out of mutual respect for the noble variety Riesling, this collaboration of ideas pays homage to the wine making techniques used by the Loosen family for generations, and the vineyard practices of the Barry family.

  The German-style Riesling made in Australia is called Wolta Wolta, (Aboriginal for ‘good water’) in honour of one the Barry family’s most significant and successful land purchases, which later became known as Lodge Hill. The Australian-style Riesling, made with grapes from the Erdener Treppchen Vineyard in Germany, is called Walhalla, (pronounced Valhalla) named after the majestic hall ruled over by Odin in Norse mythology.

  It was no simple task for an Australian winemaker to make a German-style Riesling and vice versa, but when each winemaker can draw on forty years of experience of their counterpart, the possibilities are genuinely intriguing, and even though Peter and Tom Barry were uncertain they could make such a different style of Riesling, they were delighted with the outcome.

  This project is not about sales. This is a project of passion, designed to test the skills, explore the possibilities, and hopefully, get people thinking about Riesling in a different way.

This terroir, imbued with history and character, serves as the cradle of Aroha’s distinct and captivating flavors.

  Château Batailley is one of the oldest Estates in Pauillac. Its name goes back to the last battle of the Hundred Years’ war in Medoc, which took place on the plateau that descends to Château Latour.

  This wine is from the underrated 2012 vintage and by this I mean you don’t have to wait 20 years to enjoy it!    This is drinking superbly now with a luscious Pauillac nose of cigar tobacco, cassis and spice.   This outstanding Chardonnay from Richard Kershaw MW is sourced from a parcel in the western part of Elgin the CY95 in the wines name is in reference to a clone of the Chardonnay grape that is known for its excellent quality creating wines that are aromatic, fuller bodied and rich yet tightly structured, well–balanced with length of flavour, managing to show restraint and mouth-watering passivity with a great line through the palate and fruit veering towards white peach flesh and nectarine. The Bokkeveld Shale brings amplified perfume to the nose and persistence and elegance to the palate.
