  In the glass, this wine exhibits vibrant, characteristic aromas of ripe blackcurrants, blueberries, and dark plums meshed with hints of dry Mediterranean herbs and subtle spicy, toasty oak. The generous palate is packed full of juicy fruits of the forest, cassis and red currant characters. Medium to full-bodied, the fleshy fruits are supported by moreish, supple and ripe tannins. A balanced wine, with a persistent fruit finish with beautiful regional savoury inflections of bay leaf, black olive and liquorice and subtle oak influences.

  2017 Le Charmes de Kirwan, Chateau Kirwan

  This is one of the finest Charmes de Kirwan, the second wine of famous Margaux property Chateau Kirwan, ever produced.
  In the glass is has a rich deep red colour with violet highlights, typical of young wines from great vintages. An intense nose blends notes of cherry and blackberry with subtle hints of chocolate. It is ample and unctuous in the mouth, with a distinct fleshy character. Understated tannins prolong the tasting experience while lending softness to the wine. Thanks to its mature aromas and velvety texture, this wine is already ripe for tasting, although its concentration ensures that it will age well for many years to come. Drinking Window 2022 – 2037

  Chateau Monbrison produce classic claret.  The wines are seductive and perfumed on the nose and display a firm but supple structure with excellent depth of fruit on the palate. we think this is a very underrated Margaux and consistency produces great wines that are excellent value and age very well in the short to medium term.

  The 2016 Monbrison is delicious and everything you want in a Margaux.   In the glass the nose has precise aromas of blueberry, raspberry and crushed violets. The palate is pliant, impeccably balanced with racy tannins.  The depth and purity is striking.  Drink now to 2035.
