Bodegas y Viñedos Pujanza2015 Cisma Rioja, Bodegas Y Viñedos Pujanza
Rioja, SpainVintage: 2015Deep garnet with ruby flashes, Cisma opens with layered aromas of black plum, cassis, and dried cherry, woven with cedar, tobacco leaf, and a subtle floral lift. The palate is intense yet refined with concentrated dark fruit framed by firm, polished tannins and savoury spice. Matured notes of leather and graphite add complexity, leading into a long, mineral finish. A Rioja of depth, elegance, and remarkable longevity.
For when: you want a wine that commands the room without raising its voice.
Pairs with: roast lamb with rosemary, venison loin, or aged Manchego.
If this wine were a personality, it would be discreetly powerful – the kind you notice most once the room goes quiet.
Pujanza’s Cisma is a rare single-vineyard bottling from old Tempranillo vines planted in 1973 on limestone soils at 600m in Rioja Alavesa. Produced only in the finest years, it represents the pinnacle of the estate’s philosophy: purity, terroir, and age-worthy elegance.

Founded by Carlos San Pedro in 2002, Bodegas y Viñedos Pujanza represents the modern face of Rioja Alavesa while staying deeply rooted in its heritage. Based in Laguardia, at the very heart of the region, the estate focuses exclusively on estate-grown Tempranillo from high-altitude vineyards, some over 600 metres above sea level, where cooler nights and limestone-rich soils give the wines their elegance and precision.
Spontaneous fermentation in 1,700 kilo Frenchoak vat using stemmed grapes.
CASK AGEING: 24 months in 225 & 500 L. French oak barrels.
