Muses Estate2024 Malagousia “A.Muse”, Muses Estate
Central Greece, GreeceVintage: 2024
“The Garden Daydream”
A fragrant and expressive Malagousia that feels like spring bottled. Pale lemon with silver glints, it opens with aromas of white peach, citrus blossom, and honeysuckle, layered with notes of fresh herbs and a hint of tropical fruit. On the palate, it’s lively yet supple, offering ripe pear, lemon zest, and a touch of melon wrapped around a refreshing mineral core. The finish is crisp, aromatic, and quietly moreish.
For when: you want a glass that makes everything feel lighter, fresher, brighter.
Pairs with: mezze platters, grilled fish, or simply a sunny spot and good company.
If this wine were a mood, it’d be a hammock in dappled light with music drifting through the air.
Muses Estate is a family-run winery in the Valley of the Muses, at the foot of Mount Helicon in Central Greece, a landscape steeped in mythology, once believed to be the home of the nine Muses who inspired poetry, music, and art. Established in 1946, the estate blends tradition with innovation, championing native varieties like Malagousia alongside international grapes. The A.Muse range was created to capture that same spirit of inspiration, approachable, fresh, and expressive, with a playful nod to the valley’s legendary heritage.

Description
His passion for wine and the millennia-old winemaking traditions of his homeland, led Nikolaos Zaharias to create a small winery in 1946 in Askri, in Central Greece, fulfilling his life-long dream. In 1967, his son, Athanasios Zaharias, entered the family business and brought with him dynamic and forward-thinking ideas, and gradually they transformed the small artisanal winery into a modern winery. In 2005, the year when ‘Muses Estate’ was created, it was time for the third generation Nikos, Stelios and Panayiotis, to take their place in the family business. Their skills, scientific knowledge and youthful ideas, combined with the family tradition and experience further enriched Muses Estate. From their vines grown on the slopes of the Valley of the Muses, at the foot of Mount Helicon, they aim to produce wines that are in perfect harmony with the ecosystem, and are representative of the historic terroir, as well as the family itself. They succeed: their exquisite wines are vibrant with mountain freshness that truly evoke the senses.
The grapes underwent cold skin-contact maceration for 10 hours at 8 °C in an oxygenfree environment. Co-fermentation took place of the Sauvignon Blanc and Mouhtaro at steady temperatures of 19°C, followed by maturation for one month. No oak influence to retain the characteristics of the rare Mouhtaro variety
