Widely known as Malbec, Cot is a synonym, originally from southwestern France. In the Maipo Alto, it produces very fresh and expressive wines. The cooling influences of the mountain air, along with the Pacific Ocean breezes ensure a long ripening season, resulting in concentrated flavours in the berries combined with a balancing acidity. Opulent, with a very perfumed nose of fresh cassis, raspberry, lemongrass and eucalyptus. The well-structured and creamy palate has an attractive, delicate freshness and red cherry flavours flowing through to a smooth, elegant finish.

The grapes come from Perez Cruz Liguai Estate which is located in the Maipo Andes subregion and is nestled against the mountain foothills at between 440 and 520 metres elevation. The vines are trained on Double Guyot systems where the vines are drip irrigated and are grown in rocky soils of both alluvial and colluvial origin. Harvested by hand, the grapes are picked when they have reached the perfect maturity.

Head winemaker Rafael Urrejola has spent a great deal of time understanding the diversity of Chile’s vineyard sites; the result is the emblematic ‘Terroir Hunter’ range.

In the glass this Cabernet Franc has an intense ruby red colour and great clarity, it expresses fresh aromas of black fruits such as blackberries, blueberries and blackcurrant mixed with floral tones such as violets. On the palate it is fresh, intense and elegant, firm tannins, with a fruity and unctuous medium palate. The finish is long and persistent.

The Cabernet Franc grapes were sourced from a selected vineyard planted exclusively for this range in Catemito, in the Valle de Maipo. The daily temperatures during the summer are lower in this area than in the rest of the Valle de Maipo, decreasing substantially in March and April, providing the ideal conditions for the tannins to ripen completely and to ensure that the fresh aromas and flavours are preserved. Catemito is located on an alluvial terrace which was formed in the Holocene period, approximately 10,000 years ago.

Sourced from estate vineyards nestled in the Alto Maipo, where the cooling influence of the Andes meets warm valley sun, the 2017 Finis Terrae is a wine of depth, structure, and elegance.

In the glass, it is richly aromatic, offering layers of ripe blackcurrant, plum, and cherry, intertwined with notes of cedar, tobacco, graphite, and a subtle touch of mocha and vanilla from well-integrated oak ageing. On the palate, it is full-bodied and polished, with concentrated dark fruit flavours framed by fine-grained tannins and a vibrant acidity that provides lift and longevity. The texture is smooth yet structured, with a long, refined finish marked by hints of dark chocolate, spice, and forest floor.

The Chaski Petit Verdot from Perez Cruz is a superb example of this little known grape variety. This a complex and elegant wine with delightful soft tannins which lead to a lovely spicy flavour and herbaceous aromas. The finish is long and persistant and it’s subtle flavours will last and linger in the mouth. As you would expect Perez Cruz Petit Verdot is a superb match to steak, other rich red meats and spicy lentil dishes.

The word “Chaski” refers to the ancient Inca for “messenger,” and in fact celebrates an actual Incan “chaski” trail, marked by stone-lined paths as can be seen on the label, that is found on the family property.

Deep red fruits and blackberries are underpinned by earthy nuances, subtle spice and mineral notes with a touch of tobacco. The structured palate shows depth of flavour and integrated tannins, through to an everlasting finish. Drinking Window 2022 – 2030

The grapes for this wine were carefully selected from small plots. The Cabernet Sauvignon comes from estate vineyards planted in the early 1990s, in Pirque and Los Morros, in Alto Maipo. The Pirque vineyard contains alluvial soils with medium composition with a high level of stone content, whereas Los Morros consists of soils of colluvial-alluvial origin. Both soil types have medium to low fertility, good depth of 1.5 to 2 metres and good drainage; ideal conditions to produce wines of character. The Carménère grapes come from an estate vineyard in the Colchagua Valley planted in the mid-1980s. The clay loam soil textures are dominant which is ideal for this variety as they retain soil moisture ensuring optimum and prolonged ripening. The Carignan grapes come from a rain-fed vineyard planted in 1958, in the Maule Valley. It contains soils with clay texture, high quartz content, subsoil of granitic origin and good drainage.
