  A wine of heritage and distinction, Munus—Latin for “gift”—is crafted from a meticulous selection of grapes sourced from the finest old parcels of the Rizzardi family’s Bardolino estate. This cuvée, first created in 1982 as a tribute to Contessa Maria Cristina Loredan Rizzardi’s Venetian lineage, is the only red wine from the Bardolino vineyards that is aged in oak, showcasing both tradition and innovation.

  The 2022 vintage blends old-vine Corvina with Merlot and Merlot Khorus, yielding a wine of striking depth and character. Aromas of ripe red and black cherries, wild berries, and plum are interwoven with hints of spice, forest floor, and delicate oak. On the palate, it is medium-bodied yet rich, with smooth tannins and a refined structure. The Merlot contributes plushness and colour, while the Corvina offers freshness and elegance. Ageing in oak adds complexity and a subtle, savoury finish.

  Elegant, expressive, and versatile, Munus is a testament to the unique character of Bardolino’s terroir and the legacy of the Rizzardi family.

  2021 Valpolicella Ripasso, Campo Bastiglia, Ca’Rugate

  Ca’Rugate is one of Veneto’s top wineries producing some of Veneto’s best and most exciting wines and this is one!   In the glass, it is uber concentrated with aromas of red fruit cherries with a hint of spice and floral notes. Full-bodied palate with soft tannins, an elegant silky texture and a velvety finish.

  This wine is named after Campo Bastiglia, where Ca’Rugate’s vineyard is located, nestled in the hills around Montecchia di Crosara. The fruit is sourced from a selection of the best grapes.  Vinified from a combination of dried and undried grapes. The undried grapes were destemmed and fermented immediately after the harvest. The dried grapes were allowed to dry gently in well-ventilated rooms for approximately four to five months, concentrating the flavours, sweetness and colour. The dried grapes were added later; they were fermented in stainless steel for one week, prior to being pressed. The wine was then transferred to small barrels to finish fermentation. It was then matured in wood for eight to 10 months.

  This 2019 Vapolicella Superiore an utterly delicious red wine blended from the holy trinity of Corvina (45%), Corvinone (40%) and Rondinella (15%) grapes.  It opens in the glass with intense aromas of black fruit and cherries, combined with a hint of spice from the wood. The palate is mellow, balanced and rounded, complete with elegant tannins and a smooth finish.

  Valpolicella DOC is located on the gentle slopes of the Montecchia di Crosara and Cazzano di Tramigna valleys. Ca Rugate’s vineyards are situated in the district of Montecchia di Crosara, at an altitude of 450 metres above sea level. The six hectare Campo Lavei vineyard is situated on the hillside, where the vines are grown in limestone and pebble soils.

  Crafted from hand-selected Garganega grapes grown in the sun-drenched vineyards of the Soave Classico zone, this Recioto represents the pinnacle of sweet wine tradition. The vineyard sites chosen for their age, optimal exposure, and naturally low yields produce loose, well-formed bunches ideal for the traditional appassimento (drying) method.

  After harvesting, the grapes are gently laid in drying rooms (fruttai) for several months to concentrate sugars and complexity. Fermentation is slow and careful, followed by ageing in small oak barrels, enhancing the wine’s texture and aromatic depth.

  In the glass, the 2020 Recioto di Soave shines with a golden hue, offering a luxurious nose of ripe stone fruit, citrus peel, and honeycomb. On the palate, it is lusciously sweet yet impeccably balanced, with vibrant acidity that lifts the richness and creates a long, harmonious finish.   The 2018 Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG by Musella is a masterful expression of Valpolicella’s rich winemaking heritage, crafted with biodynamic precision and a deep respect for tradition. Sourced from estate vineyards nestled in the hills northeast of Verona, this wine is a blend of 50% Corvinone, 45% Corvina, 5% Rondinella, and 5% Oseleta. 

  The grapes undergo the traditional Appassimento process, where they are dried in well-ventilated rooms, losing at least 40% of their original weight. This concentrates their sugars, aromatic compounds, and noble tannins. In January, the grapes are gently pressed, and fermentation begins at low winter temperatures (13–17°C). The wine is then aged for 24 months in 3,500 to 5,000-litre oak barrels, followed by 12 months in concrete tanks, allowing it to develop depth and complexity. 

  In the glass, this Amarone reveals a deep ruby hue. The nose is rich with aromas of sweet cherries, dried fruits, spices, and hints of bitter chocolate and tobacco. On the palate, it is full-bodied and opulent, offering a harmonious balance of concentrated fruit flavours and a pleasantly tangy finish.   Calcarole is the flagship Amarone Riserva from Guerrieri Rizzardi—produced only in exceptional vintages and in very limited quantities. Sourced from the historic marogne (dry stone-walled terraces) of the Calcarole vineyard, perched up to 230 meters in Negrar di Valpolicella, this prized cru benefits from a uniquely warm microclimate, calcareous soils, and an ideal southwest exposure.

  Hand-harvested from naturally low-yielding, mature vines, the grapes are selected at peak ripeness and air-dried for several months in traditional wooden crates. After a slow fermentation, the wine undergoes extended ageing in oak, allowing its complexity and structure to evolve gracefully.

  The 2017 vintage is already showing remarkable generosity and approachability. Deep and expressive, it reveals layers of dried cherries, ripe plums, spice, cocoa, and earthy undertones.   2016 Amarone della Valpolicella, Roccolo Grassi

  A rich and opulent wine, showing intense aromas of ripe dark berried fruits with a hint of bitter almond. Beautifully concentrated deep fruits are layered with nuances of elegant oak and savoury notes, through to a smooth palate, with supple tannins and a fine, lingering finish.

  Roccolo Grassi’s Amarone della Valpolicella is produced from a four-hectare, southeast facing vineyard in the heart of the DOCG, from vines with an average age of 40 years. The vines are grown at 200 to 250 metres above sea level in volcanic-basaltic soils. The vines are trained on a pergola system, at a density of 3,000 vines per hectare and yield 1.5 to 2.0 kilograms per vine. The grapes are manually harvested at the end of September into trays to preserve the quality of the fruit.
