Red WineThis classic Médoc blend of 55% Merlot and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon is exceptional for the price. Fruity, fresh, with hints of pulpy raspberry, crunchy cherry, subtle violet, toast, vanilla, and a touch of chocolate. Fresh, mineral, well-balanced, with juicy cherry, crunchy redcurrant, blackcurrant, fresh flowers, and a touch of liquorice. Mellow tannins and good length.
Only the best grapes selected from the oldest vines make it into the Cru, which is then aged for 12-18 months in oak.
Red WineA fine, elegant wine with plump red berried fruit and delicate hints of oak spice. Smooth and supple on the palate, with fine tannins and a long, persistent finish.
Château Preuillac is located in the heart of the Médoc. The vineyard covers 30 hectares on a single site. The soils vary with 50% of the vineyard being clay, limestone, and gravel soils; 25% gravel soils, and 25% sandy-gravel. The average age of the vines is 40 years. The vineyard is managed according to the principles of ‘la lutte raisonnée’, or sustainable viticulture. Much of the work in the vineyard is done by hand to optimise the quality of the harvest.
