  Sourced from vines aged 40 to 60 years in prestigious parcels such as Les Cras, Les Brunettes et Planchots, and Les Morais, the 2020 Aloxe-Corton Vieilles Vignes offers a striking combination of power and refinement.

  In the glass, it reveals a deep ruby hue and a brooding aromatic profile of ripe black cherry, crushed blackberry, and dried violet, underpinned by earthy undertones of forest floor, leather, and a touch of roasted spice. The palate is full-bodied and structured, with dense dark fruit, firm but well-integrated tannins, and a rustic minerality that speaks to its silex and marl-rich soils.   The Abednego completes the Icon trio from Grant Burge Wines, sitting alongside the highly awarded Meshach and Shadrach which are Grant’s flagship Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is 100% Barossa using fruit sourced from Grant’s own vineyards with an average age of 110 years. The old vines deliver fruit with incredible concentration and depth giving the resultant wine the ability to develop over many years. The iconic 2016 Abednego is a richly flavoured and elegantly structured wine with a beautifully balanced palate, complemented by flavours of plums, spice and liquorice with hints of vanilla. The dense, mouth-filling mid-palate and long, textural finish combine to create a wine that is rich and elegant.   Drink now to 2035.

  The origin of the name of this wine comes from the fact that Abednego in Hebrew means the ‘Servant of Nego’, the Babylonian god of wisdom. Abednego, with Shadrach and Meshach, were cast into the fiery furnace by King Nebuchadnezzar in 600BC.  Grant Burge named his flagship and icon Shiraz Meshach (after his great grandfather Meshach Burge 1843-1942), and the icon Cabernet Sauvignon Shadrach (inspired by the story). This wine is Abednego to completer the trio with a trio of the Barossa’s finest grape varieties.

  Inglenook, one of Napa Valley’s most storied estates, has long been synonymous with world-class Cabernet Sauvignon. Yet it is also home to an inspired, small-production Syrah: the RC Reserve. Named for Roman Coppola, Syrah enthusiast and son of proprietor Francis Ford Coppola, this wine represents a creative collaboration between Roman and the Inglenook winemaking team.   The 2022 Valli Waitaki Pinot Noir is a wine of striking poise and aromatic complexity, capturing the unique energy of this limestone-rich region.   Ten Minutes by Tractor needs little introduction, nor does the man in charge, Martin Spedding. A gently-spoken man with a background in finance and IT, in 2002, he finally acknowledged the fact that his true passion lay in wine. Despite his origins in New South Wales, he simply couldn’t get enough of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and would travel down to Victoria to immerse himself in Australia’s heartland of these noble varieties. In 2003, he visited one of his favourite small wineries on Mornington Peninsula and was delighted to discover that it was for sale. Without a moment’s hesitation, he snapped it up, and so began Martin’s journey with Ten Minutes by Tractor.

  The 2021 McCutcheon Pinot Noir is a captivating expression of the Mornington Peninsula’s cool-climate terroir. On the nose, it unveils a symphony of rose petals, sweet rhubarb, spiced sumac, bramble, and autumnal characters. The palate is equally alluring, with dried red berries, plum, and strawberry gliding across, complemented by blood orange and plum pudding notes.   2011 Meres Pinot Noir, Kooyong

  The vineyard name originates from the surrounding water bodies – the dams which flank the block on all sides.

  Its greater exposure to the north, west and east limits the vigour of the vines, while the sandier soil reduces water stress compared to Ferrous and Haven. These factors combine to make the wine silken, perfumed and approachable when young, as well as having flavour concentration and ageing potential.   This 2011 is full of life with red cherry, redcurrant, alluring rose petal and savoury notes dominating the nose and palate.  The tannins have softened over the years but are fine and silky.

  Kooyong’s Haven Pinot Noir is a great Pinot Noir and exceptional with a few years of age

  Almost indistinguishable from a Premier Cru Vosne Romanée, this gradually uncurls with swirling to reveal focused spicy, smokey, gamey aromas, permeate in the mouth with hints of anise and heather over succulent black cherry fruit. Well-structured, with richness and a warm, enveloping texture.

  Planted exclusively to Pinot Noir, the Haven Vineyard is the most sheltered site, being bordered by trees on both the North and South, hence the vineyard name.  The soil is loam over clay, with less sand than Meres and fewer sandstone pebbles than Ferrous.

  Punta 470 takes its name from the altitude of Ca’Rugate’s six hectare estate vineyard in the hills around Montecchia di Crosara, where the grapes are grown at 470 metres above sea-level. This elevation allows the grapes to retain balancing acidity to the concentrated fruits and enables Ca’ Rugate to produce a wine which is elegant and food-friendly.

  A Magnum of South Africa’s cult wine

  The 2023 vintage of The Chocolate Block continues to build on its legacy as one of South Africa’s most iconic and sought-after red blends. Crafted predominantly from Syrah, with carefully selected additions of Grenache, Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Viognier (blend proportions vary annually), this cult-status wine showcases Boekenhoutskloof’s mastery in balancing innovation and consistency. Only 4,043 barrels were produced, further enhancing its rarity and appeal.

  In the glass, the wine opens with an intensely aromatic bouquet of blackberries, blueberries, and ripe bramble fruit, intertwined with black olive tapenade, crushed violets, and a dusting of white pepper and coriander seed. The palate is rich yet polished, delivering layers of dark berry fruit, red liquorice, and cherry compote, underscored by hints of cherry tobacco and exotic spice.

  Despite its medium to full body, the wine remains elegant and focused, with vibrant acidity and silky tannins that glide across the palate. The finish is long, dry, and laced with a touch of savoury complexity, reflecting both the terroir and meticulous craftsmanship behind the blend.

  A compelling, age-worthy red that drinks beautifully now but will reward cellaring over the next 5–8 years. Ideal with flame-grilled meats, game dishes, or rich Mediterranean fare.

  Domaine Benoît Sordet is a historic, family-run estate located in Pommard, one of Burgundy’s most iconic Pinot Noir villages in the Côte de Beaune. With roots dating back to 1793, the domaine has been passed down through generations, and today it is guided by Benoît Sordet, who upholds the family’s deep commitment to traditional Burgundian craftsmanship. The estate’s vineyards include parcels in some of the region’s most sought-after terroirs, and its winemaking philosophy centres on expressing the purity and individuality of each site with minimal intervention and sustainable practices.

  This 2019 Pommard is a true expression of this philosophy, refined, structured, and evocative of its origin. Sourced from old vines on clay-limestone soils, the wine was vinified traditionally and aged in French oak barrels to enhance its complexity while preserving varietal character.

  This wine is produced from 100% Sangiovese fruit from the 1.33 hectare Poggio di Sant’Enrico Piccolo vineyard and the 3.65 hectare Poggio Sant’Enrico Grande vineyards. These are single vineyards situated at between 300 and 350 metres in elevation on Carpineto’s Chianciano Estate in Montepulciano, with southern exposures on rolling hillsides. The Piccolo vineyard was planted in 1978 and the Grande vineyard was planted in 1995.

  Coolhart is picked earlier than the other Ten Minutes vineyards and is made with more whole bunches.

  The 2022 McCutcheon Pinot Noir presents a luminous ruby hue, offering an aromatic tapestry of crushed dry leaves, woody spices, smoky oak, and forest floor nuances. These savoury elements are beautifully balanced by a sweet, strawberry exuberance, creating an irresistible and satiny profile.
