  2015 Saint Veran, Domaine Paquet

  Set on a hill overlooking the little town of Fuissé, Jean-Paul Paquet, his wife Monique and their son Yannick make wines with tremendous character which benefits from barrel ageing, which accentuates rather than dominates the wines’ natural intensity of pure fruit.

  The 2015 has light mineral and citrus aromas with a dry and medium-bodied palate that has a pleasing balance of roundness and fresh citrus flavours. Gentle oak notes add complexity and richness to the palate as do the 5 years it has had in bottle.

  Great as an aperitif or with freshwater fish and creamy chicken dishes.

  2015 Saint Joseph Blanc, Domaine Courbis

  An excellent example of white St Joseph from the Northern Rhône; this is very aromatic, with floral notes combining with ripe peach and a touch of brioche on the nose. Richly textured, but beautifully balanced on the palate with a refreshing finesse on the finish.

  2015 Lune d’Or, Clos des Lunes

  Located in Sauternes, on one of the greatest white wine terroirs in France, the Clos des Lunes is a magnificent rolling vineyard planted with old sémillon and sauvignon blanc vines. On very old vines, some perfectly golden clusters are chosen and delicately sorted grain by grain, by expert hands.

  The wine is pale gold in the glass – which is rather apt considering the name!  The nose is very expressive with fragrances of tangerine, lemon and grapefruit with wafts of fresh hay and chamomile.  Together these aromas give a mouthwatering sensation.  This leads into the racy palate that is complex, textural – preserved lemons, stone fruits and a delicious passion fruit taste.   The finish is long luscious and minerally.
