  Perhaps the world’s greenest wine project, Château Maris is located within the of AOP Minervois La Livinière in the heart of the Languedoc, where the Mediterranean sea and the Pyrenees mountains come together.  Winemaker Robert Eden is strongly committed to sustainable agriculture and follows organic and biodynamic principles.

  Château Maris Le Zulu is an organic red wine made from a selection of Grenache and Syrah grapes and without added sulphites.   The grape combination creates a full-bodied, yet soft and seductive, red wine.  Lively, fruity, a little salty and juicy, this wine has taken the best of the south of France, rich fruitiness combined with the taste and balanced acidity provided by the terroir.

  2021 Cahors ‘K-nom’, Clos Troteligotte

  A modern styled Cahors with intense blackcurrant, menthol nuances and wonderful mineral notes from the clay soil. Concentrated black fruits persist on the full-bodied palate, with good balance through to a textured finish.

  2022 Pinot Noir Turitelles, Domaine d`Altugnac

  This Pinot Noir with garnet-colored juice is perfumed with fine spices (nutmeg and cinnamon), mocha, and Montmorency cherry.  Its texture finds its balance in a generous flavor that is felt in a velvety tannin highlighting the finesse of the grape variety.

  The vineyards is full of Turitelles fossils, these marine sediments are carried by a limestone and clay base, forming sloping plateaus in the landscape, on which the vineyard is located. This terroir in the foothills of the Pyrenees is known for the quality of its hillsides and its sunny and cool microclimate.

  A powerful Cahors showing intense dark fruits, plums and blackberries layered with nuances of leather, which follow through to a richly textured palate. Complex and structured, elderberry and blackberry are enveloped by hints of vanilla and focussed mineral notes. Beautifully balanced with a long persistent finish.

  2021 Châteauneuf-du-Pape ‘Les Vallons de la Solitude’, Domaine de la Solitude

  Rich, smooth and flavoursome with complex layers of black-berried fruit, brambly notes, a touch of the local wild garrigue and gentle spice. Elegant yet sumptuous.

  This Domaine stretches from the high terraces of the ‘La Crau’ and descends into the Solitude Valley. The estate covers a patchwork of soils, from sandy soil known as ‘Safres’, which offer good drainage, to clay and pebble. The vineyard has an abundance of rounded quartzite stones, known as “Galet Roulés”, which derive from the Villafranchian period. These stones absorb heat during the day then radiate it at night, promoting full grape maturity.

  2021 Marsannay les Longeroies, Domaine Bart

  The Marsannay appellation is increasingly sought after and represents excellent value.   Domaine Bart is one of the very top estates in the region producing finely crafted wines that have excellent terroir definition.

  In the glass the 2021 Marsannay Les Longeroies opens with aromas of rose and violet.  The palate is rich and lush with spice, raspberry and blackcurrant.   Overall it is a fine of excellent balance and drive.

  The grapes for this wine come from exceptional vineyard “Les Longeroies,” which is almost universally expected to be crowned one of Marsannay’s first-ever Premier Crus (along with “Clos du Roy”) in the near future.

  2021 Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Domaine de la Solitude

  Domaine de la Solitude’s wines are renowned for their characteristic elegance whilst expressing the true origins of their terroir.    This 2021 is a rich and opulent wine with ripe blackcurrant aromas layered with notes of the garrigue and cistus (a hardy shrub) flowers. Full-bodied but with a soft texture on the palate; this wine retains the estate’s characteristic elegance whilst embracing a modern style of winemaking. Ripe fruits combine with notes of cocoa and cherry and a hint of liquorice on the finish.

  Domaine de la Solitude has one of the best terroirs in Châteauneuf-du-Pape with its abundance of rounded quartzite stones from the Villafranchian period. These stones absorb heat during the day then radiate it at night, promoting full grape maturity. Yielding just 30 hectolitres per hectare, the vines are carefully managed throughout the year. The grapes are hand-harvested, once each variety has reached full maturity, which is based on tastings undertaken by an expert panel. The vineyard is farmed sustainably; the domain promotes and develops biodiversity in the vineyard by maintaining a flourishing wine-growing ecosystem.
