The grapes were sourced from Seppeltsfields iconic bush vine Great Terraced Vineyard in the the Barossa.
In the glass it is lively, medium crimson with pink hues. Lifted aromas of rosewater and Turkish delight with a strawberry note. Sweet fruited on the palate with a dried herb savoury edge, talcy acidity and plum skin tannins.

2022 ‘The Raptor’ Pinot Noir, Lake Chalice

Beautifully structured, with fine-grained tannins, the flavours are echoed on the smooth, supple palate, flowing through to hints of coffee on the lingering finish.
The grapes are sourced exclusively from Lake Chalice’s 11-hectare Eyrie Vineyard, which is located in the lower Waihopai Valley. The fruit is a hand-picked selection of clone 115 Pinot Noir. The 15-year-old vines are pruned to two canes, and the yields are carefully monitored, resulting in an intense fruit expression in the grapes. The high clay content in the soil profile is well suited to bringing out the best in the Pinot Noir variety.

The 2021 MV Shiraz is a plush and generous wine from McLaren Vale showing all its wonderful plump smooth drinking qualities. Regional aromas of wild berries, pepper, chocolate and dried herbs. The palate has an approachable swagger and that regional savoury nuance. Delivering on the taught palate wild berries, cassis, star anise and tobacco. Time in oak has wrapped around the fruit acidity and silky tannins resulting in a vibrant style that needs a short time in the glass before it reveals its true character.

2020 Grand Malbec, Piattelli Vineyards

From high in the Andes surrounding Salta come Piattelli’s Cafayate wines, grown at an elevation of over 1,795 metres. The distinctively colourful Argentinian mountains are formed of many geological layers. The splendour of this area is the pure water and extreme thermal amplitudes. The diurnal temperature differences create longer ripening periods, which concentrate the flavours in the grapes, with the cooler evenings encouraging a balancing freshness. Additionally, the grapes develop thicker skins to cope with the intensity of the UV rays at this altitude, which further concentrates the flavours in the wine. This makes this not only one of the most beautiful but also one of the premier grape-growing regions in the world.

2021 ‘The Apple Doesn’t Fall Far From The Tree’ Malbec, Matias Riccitelli

The grapes are hand-picked from Matias Riccitelli’s vineyards. Half the grapes come from the Perdriel vineyard at 950 metres above sea level in the subregion of Lujan de Cuyo. Located at the banks of the Mendoza River, the rocky soil delivers a rich wine, with ripe fruit and smooth tannins. The other half comes from Gualtallary, which is situated at 1,400 metres altitude in the northern part of the Uco Valley. The vines here deliver fresh, spicy Malbec from calcareous soils. A green harvest is performed in December to concentrate the flavours in the berries. Both vineyards are influenced by diurnal temperature changes which encourages a long hang time, promoting concentrated flavours in the berries while retaining balancing acidity.

In the glass, this wine opens with fragrant aromas of cherry, raspberry, herbs, chocolate and spice are joined by a subtle saline tang. It’s a similar theme in the mouth, with herbs and spice dancing around the core of vibrant, juicy raspberry and cherry fruits. Creamy softness emerges on the mid-palate, as well as some tannic grip, leading to a long, fresh, slightly saline finish that leaves you wanting another sip.

£2800Add to BasketWhile Cantele’s approach to grape growing and winemaking is rooted in the traditions of Salento viticulture, it doesn’t mean that the current generation of the Cantele family doesn’t continue to experiment and push the boundaries of southern Italian winemaking.
One of its most critically acclaimed projects has been AMATIVO, a wine made from a blend of two of Puglia’s most important red grape varieties: Negroamaro and Primitivo. And the name of the wine, like the blend, is a composite of the grapes that go into it: AMA from the amaro in Negroamaro and TIVO from Primitivo.
An “international-style” wine created by blending two native grapes from Puglia, the flavour profile of this cuvée gets its earthiness from the Negroamaro and its rich fruit character from the Primitivo. While the Negroamaro imparts freshness and just the right amount of tannic structure, the Primitivo gives the wine balance through its rich red fruit flavour.

2021 Omaka Reserve Pinot Noir, Saint Clair

This 2019 has concentrated flavours of black cherry, blackcurrant, Kalamata olive, and perfumed wildflowers, that lead to an elegant palate with a structure reminiscent of finely powdered cocoa. This vineyard site has been the foundation for some of Saint Clair’s finest wines. This is the vineyard where Saint Clair Family Estate first discovered the fruit to make their flagship Saint Clair Wairau Reserve Sauvignon Blanc. The fruit is sourced from a single vineyard in the lower Wairau Valley. The Block One site was previously part of the Wairau flood plain and is renowned for its deep, highly fertile, free-draining soils, which have been built up over time and help to produce the intensity of flavour in the resulting wine. The vineyard has a flat profile and is situated approximately three metres above sea level. It is now protected from flooding by a stopbank. Located in a slightly cooler site than the majority of the Marlborough Valley, the vines have a slower annual ripening period. The fruit is carefully monitored during the ripening stage and is harvested during the cooler evenings, at maximum flavour maturity and physiological ripeness.

This blend is a tribute to Henry Evans, who planted the first vineyard of seven acres at Keyneton in 1853. The blend highlights the historical introduction of southern French and Spanish varieties to South Australia in those early pioneering days and reflects the history, religion and culture of the Barossa.The fruit for this blend is sourced from selected growers in Eden Valley and Barossa Valley, with whom Stephen and Prue have been dealing for decades.

In the glass, it has perfumed aromatics of violets, ripe cherries and plum which are trailed by some anise, fresh herb and spice notes. Delicious cherry and plum fruits inundate the mouth, underpinned by subtle anise, light forest floor and spicy fresh herb infusions.
