  2023 ‘1753’ Viognier, Château de Campuget

  An elegant Viognier with hints of nectarine, ginger and honeysuckle. Precise, crisp and balanced on the palate, with a roundness of generously structured fruit and a long, elegant finish.

  The vineyard that this Viognier comes from is situated 15 kilometres south of Nîmes, near the village of Manduel, in the heart of the ‘Appellation d’Origine Protégée’ of the Costières de Nîmes. The average age of the vines is about 25 years. The main characteristic of the vineyard is the soil, which is formed of ‘gress’, an accumulation of rounded pebbles that have been deposited by the overflowing Rhône River thousands of years ago. These pebbles allow the vines to grow in the best possible conditions and due to this natural soil filter; the vine’s roots can easily draw the necessary water for their growth. The vines also benefit from the Mediterranean sunshine, which brings the grapes to perfect maturity and allows them to be picked at maximum phenolic maturity which assured elegance in the resulting wine.

  This crisp white wine shows incredible mineral, zesty citrus and floral notes, with a hint of spice and characteristics hints of bitter almond.   On the hills near Gavi, not far from the Ligurian Sea, the Cortese grapes are grown, producing this Gavi D.O.C.G. Cortese is a white grape variety grown in the Alessandria area, especially on the hillsides surrounding the town of Gavi. This variety is not very robust and requires good climatic conditions in order to ripen properly. In the Alessandria area, it has found the essential conditions to produce excellent results. The soils are rich in marls and fossils, providing a unique terroir for this unique wine.

  Domaine Lafage, situated between Perpignan and the Spanish border in Côtes Catalanes, Roussillon, has been run by Jean-Marc and Eliane Lafage since 2001.

  A juicy, pale rosé, with strawberry, citrus and orange peel aromas. Ample minerality as well as a medium-bodied, racy profile on the palate, to be enjoyed young and fresh.

  The vines for this wine are cultivated on stony soil (galets roulés) close to the Mediterranean coast giving beautiful maritime freshness. The average vine age is 25 years old for the Mourvedre and 75 for the Grenache.

  2023 Treixadura ‘Expresion’ , Pazo do Mar

  An aromatic and full-flavoured wine with pure aromas of white orchard fruit and lively citrus notes. Elegant, with a creamy, luscious texture and a lovely crisp, fruity finish.

  The aromatic Treixadura variety is a local variety of the Ribeiro region. This slow-ripening white variety can be sensitive, so site selection is paramount. The Pazo do Mar Treixadura vineyard is a testament to this: the grapes for this wine come from the Torre do Olivar vineyard, a viticultural site that dates back to the Middle Ages. In 2002, the vineyard was replanted with the current Treixadura vines. The vineyard sits at an elevation of 150 metres above sea level on a meander of the Miño River, which has a moderating influence on the vines, as they have been oriented to encourage maximum exposure to the sun. The soil is sedimentary with slate components, which retains the warmth of the day and radiates it at night, as Treixadura needs warm soils for optimum quality.

The cooler climate of Martinborough ensures the wine is aromatic with steely minerality while the rocky soils impart intensity of fruit.
