    L’Ormarins Brut Classique MCC is a sparkling wine that hails from the Western Cape of South Africa.     In the glass, it has a fine bead and string of pearl bubbles. Aromas of tarte tatin apple and cinnamon with a light pear drop and biscuit nuance. Bright vivacious and crisply zesty in the mouth. Tangy lime and green apple crunch with a richer, deeper, biscuit and sourdough undertone. The zingy citrus and creamy lees flavours are well balanced with acidity and fruit in complete harmony. It is poised and elegant with a lingering aftertaste.

    Petaluma Croser sparkling wine is a truly awesome wine and seriously good value, a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, made by the Champagne method.

    The Chardonnay offers nectarine, cashews and biscuity characters — the backbone of the Croser Non-Vintage palate — with the Pinot Noir providing a fine mousse and strawberry fruit lift. Incredibly bubbly, with a long-lasting dry finish.

    As is the tradition with non-vintage Champagne, this wine is a blend of the current vintage Croser with reserve wine from several older vintages — with each vintage adding distinctive qualities to the final blend. Croser Non Vintage stays true to the ‘aperitif’ style of Vintage Croser, showcasing a rich, full blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from selected sites in the cool climate Piccadilly Valley and other parts of the Adelaide Hills.

    Hand-picked fruit is whole bunch pressed or crushed and pressed, with the free-run juice then fermented using Petaluma’s specially selected yeast strain in barrique and tank. The tiraged sparkling wine is left to age on yeast lees for 12 months and disgorged on demand — this ensures the wine retains optimum freshness and vitality.

    Simpsons Wine Estate is situated in the Elham Valley; an unspoilt seam in the North Downs of Kent where the contours of the land, the climate and the soil are excellent for viticulture. The intensely lime-rich chalk soil forms part of the same chalk ridge that stretches from southern England through Champagne and on to Burgundy. The grapes come from the Roman Road vineyard, named after the route the Romans first marched when invading England in AD 43.  They are grown on south-facing slopes, ensuring heat accumulation in the day and cold air drainage at night. The vineyard is less than eight miles from the coast, providing a crucial maritime influence insulating the fruit against intense temperature variations.

This champagne is ideal as an aperitif or paired with seafood, sushi, or light desserts.

    ‘Aged on the lees for 3-to-5 years in cellars dug out of ancient Gallo-Roman chalk pits, this rosé Champagne is serious, and seriously delicious. Displaying a medium ‘vieux rose’ hue and narrow cordon, the wine exudes summer pudding fruits and fresh bread notes. On the palate, the wine shows finesse in its light body, zippy acidity and ‘crackling’ mousse texture. Nicely balanced with good length.     This prestigious new cuvée from the Maison is assembled only from Premier and Grand Cru grapes.    In the glass, the champagne reveals aromas of white flowers, hawthorn, honeysuckle and lemon tree, the palate opens to notes of almond, toast, a touch of sandalwood and some notes of red fruits. This champagne is distinguished by its light yellow colour with shiny silvery highlights, its persistent and very creamy foam and its very fine bubbles. This Premier Cru is presented in the Prestige bottle developed in 2006 by the House for its high-end wines with its fine neck limiting gas exchange and its warm brown colour preserving wine against the light.

On the palate, ripe hazelnut envelops delicate notes of crystalline mandarin and orange peel, through to a long finish, full of finesse.

    The three revered Chardonnay Grand Cru sites of Avize, Chouilly, Le Mesnil sur Oger and the Pinot Noir Grand Cru site of Ambonnay produced the grapes for this cuvée.
