2010 Cuvee Barberini Blanc, Domaine de la Solitude
£4950Add to BasketWhite Châteauneuf-du-Pape is one of the rarest and most prestigious wines in France. For most people, Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the southern Rhône Valley means red wine. This is understandable because only 7% of the wines are white.
This cuvée is a tribute to the founding fathers of the Estate. It is made with Roussanne grapes, picked the moment that they take on their golden colour, associated with Grenache Blanc and Clairette grapes. The Roussanne harvest is fermented in new barrels and the Grenache and Clairette grapes in vats. This wine is aged for 8 months on fine lees before being blended. It is an opulent wine due to the large proportion of Roussanne, but it also has beautiful freshness thanks to the Clairette. It can be enjoyed between 1 and 8 years after the harvest, or even kept for longer by those who appreciate mature wines.

2017 La Reserve De Leoville Barton, St. Julien
£4995Add to BasketThe second wine of Leoville Barton, this traditionally styled Bordeaux has an expressive nose of forest berries with hints of cedar, coffee, and a touch of vanilla spice. Elegant and refined, with a long finish.
Despite initially challenging weather, the 2018 Bordeaux vintage was excellent. The winter was unusually wet and remained so throughout spring. Hail also struck some vineyards during this period. However, conditions eased, allowing for a successful flowering followed by a particularly hot, dry summer with surprisingly cool nights, from June through to September. September brought welcome rains, reviving the vines. Harvest took place under ideal conditions, producing small, thick-skinned and highly concentrated berries, resulting in rich wines, with balancing acidity and a fresh, fruity appeal.

2018 Beaune 1er Cru ‘Clos du Roi’, Chateau de Santenay
£5150Add to BasketTaken from the Clos Du Roi 1er Cru vineyard, this Pinot demonstrates the best of the Beaune sub-region and is known for its wonderful ageing potential.
The 2018 Chateau de Santenay Beaune 1er Cru “Clos du Roi” is very dark deep garnet in the glass. The nose is concentrated with ripe black fruit married with delicate oak characters. The palate is full-bodied with elegant and big tannins. The freshness of the fruit and complexity make this a remarkable wine with great finesse and style.
This Premier Cru vineyard takes its name from the fact that it was claimed by King Louis XI during the 15th Century following the death of Charles the Bold, the last Duke of Burgundy. The soils here are free-draining with a mixture of clay and sand, and a subsoil that has a high limestone content. This forces the roots of the vine to dig deep to find the vital nutrients and water they need, which in turn results in a high concentration of flavour within the fruit.

Cuvée Royale Rose(Gift Box), Champagne Joseph Perrier
£5495Add to BasketJoseph Perrier Cuvée Royale Brut Rosé is a sophisticated champagne made from a blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Meunier grapes. It has a lovely salmon pink colour with a fine and persistent perlage. The nose is complex and intense, with aromas of red berries, strawberries, and raspberries, followed by hints of flowers and spices. On the palate, the wine is fresh and lively, with a perfect balance between fruitiness, acidity, and creamy texture. The finish is long and elegant, leaving a pleasant and refreshing sensation. This champagne is ideal as an aperitif or paired with seafood, sushi, or light desserts.
‘Aged on the lees for 3-to-5 years in cellars dug out of ancient Gallo-Roman chalk pits, this rosé Champagne is serious, and seriously delicious. Displaying a medium ‘vieux rose’ hue and narrow cordon, the wine exudes summer pudding fruits and fresh bread notes. On the palate, the wine shows finesse in its light body, zippy acidity and ‘crackling’ mousse texture. Nicely balanced with good length. Quite vinous, this wine is a lovely aperitif but will also work well with wild salmon or even light desserts.’ Patricia Stefanowicz MW

2013 Anjou Blanc Côteaux des Treilles, Pithon-Paillé
£5500Add to BasketSommelier Wine Awards 2019 Gold
This is real WOW wine and if your a Chenin Blanc fan then one sip and you will fall in love. It displays a breathtaking tension between the tangy acidity of the latitude, bright ‘mineralité’ of the site and luscious honeyed ripeness with fabulous complexity from its magnificent steep, southerly aspect.
This wine represents the tête de cuvée (top of the range) of Pithon-Paillé. The Coteau des Treilles vineyard located in Beaulieu-sur-Layon was abandoned after World War Two as it became to difficult to farm by tractor, which became all the rage in the post-war period. Seeing the potential of this great vineyard, the family purchased all 70 parcels from 25 different owners over the course of 3 1/2 years eventually achieving a monopole of this great Anjou site.

Champagne Collet 1er Cru Blanc de Blancs NV
£5500Add to BasketAn assemblage of six Chardonnay parcels from the best Premiers and Grands Crus of the Champagne region. The three pillars of this Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru come from the three famous Grands Crus of Champagne – Avize, Oger and Chouilly. Avize is a rich Cru which brings power; Oger offers tenderness and Chouilly imparts elegance and finesse to the blend. These limestone soil Crus naturally present iodised notes and citrus aromas. The assemblage is balanced by blending Chardonnay from Villers-Marmery, a very mineral Cru with smoky notes making the wine round and light, while fruit from the Crus of Vaudemange and Trépail complete the assemblage.
Vivacious, with a light texture this 1er Cru delivers citrus notes of Sicilian lemon and lime, with hints of lemon tart on puff pastry. Nuances of white pepper, liquorice and smoke add to the kaleidoscope of flavours. This is fresh, taut, complex and full of finesse with a beautifully long finish.
The Blanc de Blancs 1er Cru was aged for a minimum of five years in Collet’s centuries-old limestone cellars.

2018 Châteauneuf-du-Pape ‘Cuvée Barberini’, Domaine de la Solitude
£5500Add to BasketDomaine de la Solitude’s wines are renowned for their characteristic elegance whilst expressing the true origins of their terroir.
The Cuvée Barberini is a tribute to the founding fathers of the Estate and is made only in the best years from the best parcels of old vines of Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah. This Domaine has one of the best terroirs in Châteauneuf-du-Pape with its abundance of rounded quartzite stones, known as “Galet Roulés” terroir. These stones absorb heat during the day then radiate it at night, promoting full grape maturity. The grapes are manually harvested, once each variety has reached phenological ripeness. 2018 is fantastic Rhône vintage for reds and this wine is no exception. Well textured, ripe, full-bodied – delivering rich black fruits, mocha expresso and a subtle hint of smoke. Smooth on the palate with integrated tannins and a lingering finish, this is a traditional and elegant Châteauneuf.
In 2018 the Châteauneuf producers have made very high quality, focused wines, which are open and expressive with a gorgeously appealing fruit profile. The combination of small yields, ripe fruit and tannins also means that these wines have the ageing potential of the best years.

2019 Meursault Vieilles Vignes, Domaine Florent Garaudet
£5700Add to Basket2019 has been cited as an outstanding vintage and one of the best in recent years. The dry, warm conditions produced low yields of impeccably balanced, concentrated wines with searing freshness and remarkable purity.
In the glass this wine opens with elegant aromas of brioche, fresh butter and delicate citrus notes which lead to a rich, opulent palate of ripe citrus fruits through to a long, rich and satisfying finish.
The 60-year old vines are grown in a Hospice de Beaune parcel, just under the Meursault 1er Cru vineyard of ‘Les Santenots’ and are planted at a density of 10,000 to 11,000 per hectare. The clay-limestone soils are formed on alluvial stones and produce rich, textured wines. The vines are sustainably cultivated to respect the equilibrium of the environment, with the objective of limiting treatments to what is strictly necessary to obtain a harvest in the best possible condition.
