  This chardonnay from the standout vintage of 2019 exhibits a pretty bouquet of fresh pear, citrus oil and white flowers, the 2019 Saint-Romain is medium to full-bodied, supple but lively, with a bright spine of acidity and a gently chalky finish.

  Fruit for this Chardonnay is sourced from 2 lieu-dits in Saint-Romain, 80% from `Sous Roches` and the remaining 20% from `Jarrons`, located at the bottom of the village. The 30-year-old vines are planted on rocky soils with excellent drainage which allow the grapes to ripen at a steady pace and retain their vibrant flavours.

  2021 Initial de Desmirail, Margaux

  A real purity of fruit is showcased in this elegant Margaux, with an abundance of blackcurrant, black cherry and fruits of the forest, complemented by subtle hints of cedar, toast and cinnamon. Elegant with silky tannins, it is perfectly balanced through to a lingering finish.

  The vineyard is located around the town of Cantenac, neighbouring Château Palmer and Cantenac Brown. Bordeaux enjoys a maritime climate, influenced by the sea, with warm summers and cool winters. The soils are made up of Margaux’s renowned free-draining gravel which contributes to the rich style of wine imbued with finesse and elegance. The vines are trained according to a Double Guyot trellising system and are green harvested in order to concentrate the flavours in the remaining fruit. The grapes are carefully selected and harvested by hand when they have reached optimum maturity.

This rosé Champagne is crafted primarily from Chardonnay with a smaller proportion of Pinot Noir, following traditional méthode champenoise. Nicole focuses on expressing the terroir’s unique characteristics and highlighting the vintage’s unique character to make expressive, deep, and complex champagnes. While this is labeled as nonvintage, it comes from a single year, making it an incredible buy for Grand Cru Rose Champagne

  This is an exceptional blend of seven Grands Crus and 13 Premiers Crus. The Chardonnay, predominantly from the commune of Vertus, contributes freshness and citrus notes. The Premier Cru of Villers-Marmery contributes to the mineral dimension of the limestone terroir along with smoky touches. The Pinot Noir imparts a richness and power thanks to historic Crus such as Ay, Hautvillers and Avenay Val d’Or blended with Crus from Rilly la Montagne. The Pinot Meunier from Villedommange completes the blend imparting a roundness and suppleness.

  A swirl of very fine bubbles is reflected in a creamy style of Champagne with developed biscuity notes from extended ageing on the lees and a lovely long and savoury finish. This wine is full of charm.

  This cuvée was bottle aged for a minimum of four years in the historic limestone cellars which are centuries old.

  The nose is fruity, powerful, well-balanced and offers concentration. It reveals notes of cassis, blackberry and small notes of gravels/terroir associated with nice touches of strawberry/red fruits as well as discreet hints of pepper, liquorice, cardamom and spices. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a good definition, juiciness, a beautiful frame as well as a good roundness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of fleshy/juicy cassis and crushed blackberry with touches of red fruits (strawberry, cherry) as well as discreet hints of liquorice and chocolate/tonka bean. Tannins are fine and elegant.

  The House revels in the art of blending Pinots and Chardonnays. Enriched with around fifteen crus and a generous quantity of reserve wines, Duval-Leroy Brut Reserve confirms its complexity and is recognised for its consistency.  Providing a perfect balance between finesse and power, it draws out flavours of dark chocolate, cinnamon and roasted yellow figs, expressing its subtle, melt-in-the-mouth vinosity.

  This is the 2nd wine of Chateau Durfort-Vivens and is from the Margaux region of Bordeaux.  A refined and multi-nuanced Margaux wine with intense aromas of cassis and blackberries, with a well-structured body, polished tannins and delicate layers of oak.   Interestingly this wine was aged in Amphora.  The whole property has been biodynamic since 2016.

  2021 Volnay, Domaine Rebourgeon-Mure

  Rebourgeon has a growing reputation for seriously good pinot noir which is kind of ironic as the families’ winemaking roots can be traced back to 1552!   This 2019 Volnay has a perfect balance of tension, energy and flavour.  It is made from two parcels, one in Les Pluchots planted in the 1920s and one in Les Lurets, half Premier Cru and half Village Cru.

  In the glass, this Volnay has a lovely nose of dark berry fruit with hints of rose petals and blackcurrant.  The palate is medium-bodied with a fine grip, succulent tannins, with a mixture of blue and blackberry fruit  An all-around delicious wine.

  2018 ‘Secret de Schistes’, Château de l’Ou

  An aromatic bouquet of red and blue fruits, enhanced by graphite, crushed stone, pepper and herbal notes of the garrigue. Rich, with an elegant texture, polished tannins and superb length.

  The Syrah vines are grown in the High Agly Valley, where the vineyard is situated at 325 metres. At this elevation the vines benefit from the coastal breezes sweeping up from the Mediterranean Sea, which help to temper the scorching summer heat. The mountainous foothills of the Pyrenees provide good diurnal temperature differences, with cooler evenings offering the vines gentle respite from the heat, resulting in balanced fruit with natural freshness. The soils are made up of a mosaic of schist soils, which date back to the Cretaceous period. The schistous marl produces shallow black soils, forcing vines to put down deep roots in search of water and nutrients. The vineyard is certified organic.

  Pierre Gimonnet et Fils, Cuis Premier Cru Brut Champagne is produced from Pierre Gimonnet et Fils’ own vines planted on Cuis and Vertus (1er Crus), Cramant, Chouilly and Oger (Grand Crus) using only the Chardonnay grape to produce this excellent Premier Cru Brut Champagne. With some 28 hectares in their areas Pierre Gimonnet et Fils produce only Blanc de Blanc Cuvees – a phenomenon rare in Champagne.

  On the nose, the Chardonnay provides fresh floral and citrus notes. Whilst these notes continue on to the palate, delicious middle weight flavours of stone fruits come forward with brioche and an underlying minerality.   The 55-hectare estate comprises 93 different plots over the five villages of Thauvenay, Ménétréol, Bué, Sancerre and Crézancy. This combination offers the possibility to select from the best plots from a range of terroirs with distinct mesoclimates, resulting in complexity in the wine. The region’s rolling hills and semi-continental climate produce beautifully structured Sauvignon Blancs that are crisp and fresh, evoking aromas of ripe gooseberries, smoke and gunflint notes. The grapes for this cuvée come from two plots rich in clay and with a high flint content, known as Silex. Silex is a type of sedimentary soil which is rich in flint; renowned for imbuing the wines with a distinctive flinty, mineral character.
