2018 Pinot Noir ‘Clonal Selection’, Kershaw

    £5200

A world-class Pinot Noir from Richard Kershaw M.W and easily one of South Africa’s best. This Pinot Noir is characterised by its captivating floral attributes underscored by purity, focus and freshness framed by fine powder tannins yet cushioned by a succulent texture and flavours of black cherry, pomegranate, rose petal and raspberry. Only 8056 bottles & 33 Magnums produced.

The grapes come from 11 tiny vineyard parcels in several locations in the Elgin Valley. Elgin is the coolest wine region in South Africa and is situated on an inland, hexagonal-shaped plateau, at an altitude of 300 metres. The region is surrounded by mountains and lies just over six miles from the Atlantic Ocean, which brings occasional sea-borne mists. February is the hottest month of the year, with daytime temperatures peaking at 23°C and night-time temperatures dipping to 14°C. The benefit of this cooler climate is that the grape cluster stays connected to its roots for longer, so it develops complex characteristics and achieves physiological ripeness more gradually, resulting in lower sugar levels and consequently lower alcohol levels.

Demi-Sec La Réserve, Champagne, Palmer & Co

    £5200

A Demi-Sec style Champagne is luscious and fresh, offering a true explosion of fruity apricot and pear, combined with tropical touches of mango, caramelised pineapple and nuances of zesty pink grapefruit.

The grands terroirs of the Montagne de Reims are central to Champagne Palmer & Co’s wine philosophy, encompassing over 200 hectares across seven iconic crus, all facing north. The two Premier Crus of Trépail and Villers-Marmery are highly reputed for their Chardonnays with citrus, mineral, and floral notes. The Grand Crus of Verzenay and Mailly are located at the heart of Pinot Noir terroir and produce wine with rich aromas of red fruits, spices, and saline undertones. The Premier Crus of Ludes, Chignyles-Roses, and Rilly-la-Montagne add structure and freshness to both Pinot Noirs and Meuniers. This aromatic diversity enables the oenologists to craft unique blends each year.

2020 Aloxe-Corton Vielles Vignes, Domaine Edmond Cornu

    £5200

The 2020 Aloxe-Corton Vieilles Vignes from Domaine Edmond Cornu & Fils is a bold and expressive Pinot Noir that captures the essence of Burgundy’s northern Côte de Beaune. Nestled in the village of Ladoix-Serrigny, Domaine Edmond Cornu & Fils is a family-run estate with deep roots in the region, known for producing traditionally styled, terroir-driven wines across several revered appellations. Now led by Pierre Cornu, the domaine is celebrated for its sustainable vineyard practices, old-vine holdings, and commitment to classic Burgundian craftsmanship.

Sourced from vines aged 40 to 60 years in prestigious parcels such as Les Cras, Les Brunettes et Planchots, and Les Morais, the 2020 Aloxe-Corton Vieilles Vignes offers a striking combination of power and refinement.

In the glass, it reveals a deep ruby hue and a brooding aromatic profile of ripe black cherry, crushed blackberry, and dried violet, underpinned by earthy undertones of forest floor, leather, and a touch of roasted spice. The palate is full-bodied and structured, with dense dark fruit, firm but well-integrated tannins, and a rustic minerality that speaks to its silex and marl-rich soils. A tangy edge and vibrant acidity provide lift and balance, leading to a long, savoury finish.

This Aloxe-Corton will pair beautifully with game, roasted meats, and mature cheeses, and it promises excellent ageing potential for those patient enough to cellar it.

2021 McCutcheon Pinot Noir, Ten Minutes By Tractor

Original price was: £6995.Current price is: £5495. 21% saving

Ten Minutes by Tractor needs little introduction, nor does the man in charge, Martin Spedding. A gently-spoken man with a background in finance and IT, in 2002, he finally acknowledged the fact that his true passion lay in wine. Despite his origins in New South Wales, he simply couldn’t get enough of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and would travel down to Victoria to immerse himself in Australia’s heartland of these noble varieties. In 2003, he visited one of his favourite small wineries on Mornington Peninsula and was delighted to discover that it was for sale. Without a moment’s hesitation, he snapped it up, and so began Martin’s journey with Ten Minutes by Tractor.

The 2021 McCutcheon Pinot Noir is a captivating expression of the Mornington Peninsula’s cool-climate terroir. On the nose, it unveils a symphony of rose petals, sweet rhubarb, spiced sumac, bramble, and autumnal characters. The palate is equally alluring, with dried red berries, plum, and strawberry gliding across, complemented by blood orange and plum pudding notes. A delicate red wine jus leads into a savoury edge of leather, cinnamon spice, and finely detailed tannins, culminating in a complex and finely structured finish.

    2011 Meres Pinot Noir, Kooyong

    £5500

The vineyard name originates from the surrounding water bodies – the dams which flank the block on all sides.

Its greater exposure to the north, west and east limits the vigour of the vines, while the sandier soil reduces water stress compared to Ferrous and Haven. These factors combine to make the wine silken, perfumed and approachable when young, as well as having flavour concentration and ageing potential. This 2011 is full of life with red cherry, redcurrant, alluring rose petal and savoury notes dominating the nose and palate. The tannins have softened over the years but are fine and silky.

    2009 Haven Pinot Noir, Kooyong

    £5500

Kooyong’s Haven Pinot Noir is a great Pinot Noir and exceptional with a few years of age

Almost indistinguishable from a Premier Cru Vosne Romanée, this gradually uncurls with swirling to reveal focused spicy, smokey, gamey aromas, permeate in the mouth with hints of anise and heather over succulent black cherry fruit. Well-structured, with richness and a warm, enveloping texture.

Planted exclusively to Pinot Noir, the Haven Vineyard is the most sheltered site, being bordered by trees on both the North and South, hence the vineyard name. The soil is loam over clay, with less sand than Meres and fewer sandstone pebbles than Ferrous.

  • Cuvée Royale Rose(Gift Box), Champagne Joseph Perrier Champagne & Sparkling Wine

Cuvée Royale Rose(Gift Box), Champagne Joseph Perrier

    £5500

Joseph Perrier Cuvée Royale Brut Rosé is a sophisticated champagne made from a blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Meunier grapes. It has a lovely salmon pink colour with a fine and persistent perlage. The nose is complex and intense, with aromas of red berries, strawberries, and raspberries, followed by hints of flowers and spices. On the palate, the wine is fresh and lively, with a perfect balance between fruitiness, acidity, and creamy texture. The finish is long and elegant, leaving a pleasant and refreshing sensation. This champagne is ideal as an aperitif or paired with seafood, sushi, or light desserts.

‘Aged on the lees for 3-to-5 years in cellars dug out of ancient Gallo-Roman chalk pits, this rosé Champagne is serious, and seriously delicious. Displaying a medium ‘vieux rose’ hue and narrow cordon, the wine exudes summer pudding fruits and fresh bread notes. On the palate, the wine shows finesse in its light body, zippy acidity and ‘crackling’ mousse texture. Nicely balanced with good length. Quite vinous, this wine is a lovely aperitif but will also work well with wild salmon or even light desserts.’ Patricia Stefanowicz MW

Nicole focuses on expressing the terroir’s unique characteristics and highlighting the vintage’s unique character to make expressive, deep, and complex champagnes. While this is labeled as nonvintage, it comes from a single year, making it an incredible buy for Grand Cru Rose Champagne.

The wine offers up a lovely aromatic constellation of pomegranate, rhubarb, pâtissière, chalky soil tones and a lovely floral topnote redolent of violets. On the palate the wine is bright, focused and full-bodied, with good depth at the core, good soil undertow, frothy mousse and a long, well balanced finish.

The estate’s vineyards include parcels in some of the region’s most sought-after terroirs, and its winemaking philosophy centres on expressing the purity and individuality of each site with minimal intervention and sustainable practices.

This 2019 Pommard is a true expression of this philosophy, refined, structured, and evocative of its origin. Sourced from old vines on clay-limestone soils, the wine was vinified traditionally and aged in French oak barrels to enhance its complexity while preserving varietal character.

In the glass, the nose is layered with classic aromas of wild cherry, redcurrant, and blackberry, mingling with subtle notes of earth, violet, and a whisper of spice. The palate is elegant yet firm, showcasing bright red fruit, fine tannins, and a mineral edge, hallmarks of the Pommard terroir. £5995

Made without additional dosage ‘#Zodo’ is a sublime expression of English sparkling wine. Aromas of Granny Smith apple and crushed stone lead to a beautifully balanced palate with vibrant acidity, fine weight and a twist of lemon on the finish.

This wine has been produced from Multiple Vintages, (MV). The fruit comes predominantly from the 2014 vintage, but also contains reserve wines from the 2009 and 2011 vintages.

80% of the grapes came from the exceptional Mount Harry Vineyard near Lewes, in East Sussex, which sits at 70 metres above sea-level. 20% of the fruit is sourced from the Storrington Priory Vineyard, located at 50 metres above sea-level. Both of the vineyards are located in Sussex, above the 50th parallel and are influenced by a cool coastal climate. Planted in 2006, the vineyards have east and south-easterly aspects encouraging the maximum exposure to the sun, assisting ripening in this capricious climate. The Storrington Priory vineyard consists of greensand soils which impart rounder, fruit profile in the resulting wine. The Mount Harry vineyard is made up of clay loam over pure chalk soils, without flint, which provide superior drainage for the vines, as well as imparting great elegance and finesse to the wines.
