Porseleinberg is the result of Marc Kent’s (of Boekenhoutskloof fame) determined search for South Africa’s finest Syrah, a journey that ultimately led him to the Swartland. There, atop the windswept Porseleinberg mountain, he discovered a remote, rugged farm with schist-rich soils, which is now recognised as one of the world’s great Syrah sites.

This 2015 Frankland River Cabernet Sauvignon is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes sourced from his Pedestal vineyard in Western Australia’s Wilyabrup region. Inky black, the wine has strong classic bay leaf and earthy cabernet tones. Very focused, mouth filling with very fine tannins. Oak is supporting the intense fruit. Having celebrated their 100th year of trading in 2013, Barros Port is undoubtedly one of the most prestigious companies producing and trading in Port. Much of their success comes from Colheita Ports – old Tawnies from a single year matured in cask for a minimum period of seven years. Their expertise in Colheita Ports has established them as the stand out producer of this style. Barros leaves their Colheita Ports to mature in cask until being hand bottled to order. The loss of wine from evaporation (known as the ‘Angel’s Share’) is much higher in comparison to bottle ageing. It is a sacrifice they are willing to make and one that helps them achieve unsurpassed quality in their Colheita wines.
This 1998 Colheita is exceptional. In the glass, it has bright brown-tawny colour with slight reflexes of red. The wine reveals a rich and elegant nose, combining the dried fruits aromas with the aromatic wood notes. Soft and silky in the taste, full of ripe figs and sweet flavours. A sensation of depth, in an elegant and distinctive style. Exceptional.
A breath-taking Pinot Noir with extraordinary texture, elegance and poise. Classic aromas of red and dark cherries mingle with hints of spice. The palate is structured yet elegant with excellent fruit weight and firm tannins. The long, complex, savoury finish is characteristic of this excellent 2015 vintage.
The vineyard is set in the classic cool climate subregion of Red Hill at an altitude of 146 metres above sea level. The Pinot Noir vines are aged between 15 and 22 years; six clones are planted each with subtle characteristics which impart complexity to the resulting wine. The soil is a deep red volcanic clay that allows dry farming, without irrigation. Founder, Lindsay McCall, still tends to the vineyard characterised by its distinctive Lyre or ‘U’ trellis system which sits on an elaborate steel frame assembly.

The Reserve range continues to be the best of what Xanadu are able to produce in a given vintage – single vineyard or otherwise. Fruit was predominantly sourced from two mature, dry grown vineyards; Timber Creek, in the Wilyabrup subregion; and Victory Point in the Treeton subregion of Margaret River and was supplemented with a small amount of Malbec from the Stevens Road vineyard in Wallcliffe. The resulting blend from these vineyards has married beautifully, proving again that sometimes ‘the whole is greater than the sum of its parts’.

Amon Ra is made from exceptional old vine fruit was sourced from the famed Ebenezer sub district at the northern tip of the Barossa Valley. Vine age 50—130 years old.

A Brunello with great personality. Intense ruby red colour with a complex aromatic structure, highlighted by notes of blackberry and plum jam, combined with spicy hints of tobacco. On the palate, it is balanced and elegant, with ripe, mature, and well- integrated tannins through the long and sustained finish.
The 1999 vintage 21-Year-Old Para Tawny is proudly a single vintage fortified wine, whereby parcels have been matured in old oak hogsheads. Brandy spirit has been used as the fortification element, which along with extensive oxidative ageing, gives rise to roasted nut, praline and butterscotch aromas and flavours. A fine example of single vintage Tawny from extended barrel maturation, lifted, fresh & elegant.
The friendship between Ernst Loosen, of the Dr. Loosen Estate in Germany, and Peter Barry, of Jim Barry Wines, Australia, began in 1995 at the London Wine Fair. Forged out of mutual respect for the noble variety Riesling, this collaboration of ideas pays homage to the wine making techniques used by the Loosen family for generations, and the vineyard practices of the Barry family.
The German-style Riesling made in Australia is called Wolta Wolta, (Aboriginal for ‘good water’) in honour of one the Barry family’s most significant and successful land purchases, which later became known as Lodge Hill. The Australian-style Riesling, made with grapes from the Erdener Treppchen Vineyard in Germany, is called Walhalla, (pronounced Valhalla) named after the majestic hall ruled over by Odin in Norse mythology.
It was no simple task for an Australian winemaker to make a German-style Riesling and vice versa, but when each winemaker can draw on forty years of experience of their counterpart, the possibilities are genuinely intriguing, and even though Peter and Tom Barry were uncertain they could make such a different style of Riesling, they were delighted with the outcome.
This project is not about sales. This is a project of passion, designed to test the skills, explore the possibilities, and hopefully, get people thinking about Riesling in a different way.

Lota is the flagship wine of Cousiño Macul, an emblem of heritage, precision, and exceptional terroir. Sourced from the winery’s most treasured parcels, including Cabernet Sauvignon vines planted in 1932, this wine represents the pinnacle of the family’s winemaking tradition. These ungrafted vines are descendants of original French cuttings brought to Chile in the 1860s and grow at the foot of the Andes, 600 meters above sea level, in rocky, loamy soils that yield naturally low quantities of intensely concentrated fruit.
In the glass, the 2019 Lota reveals a nose that is rich and layered, offering aromas of cassis, blackberry, and black cherry interwoven with cedar, cocoa, and subtle hints of warm spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, yet impressively refined. Lush black fruit flavours are framed by fine, ripe tannins and nuanced oak, creating a harmonious balance that culminates in a long, elegant, and ultra-smooth finish.
This is a wine of power, grace, and provenance, worthy of extended cellaring, but compellingly drinkable now. Ideal for collectors and connoisseurs seeking a Cabernet-based wine that marries Old World sophistication with New World vitality.
