The first of its kind, a sparkling Albarino. Mar de Frades lies in the heartland of Rias Baixas. This is the truest expression of the terroir, nestled upon the Galician coast where the seawater washes up on the shore finds its way through the breeze onto the skins of Albarino grapes giving its notorious salinity.
In the glass, this wine is lemon/golden in colour with a fine persistent bead of bubbles. The nose is expressive and complex with white fruits, eucalyptus, almond and toast as well as that classic Albarino trait of seawater. In the mouth, it is full, creamy and deliciously cool. The Albarino salinity is again in full force with those white fruits and toasty notes leaving you wanting more. Ideal as an aperitif or with starters like smoked salmon, scallops or oysters.
The label has a thermosensitive logo so that when the wine is chilled at the right serving temperature, a blue galleon(boat) appears and disappears when it is too warm for consumption.
