Cullen’s Kevin John remains one of Australia’s classiest Chardonnays and is named after a pioneer of the Margaret River wine region. Biodynamic and carbon-neutral practices result in this incredibly perfumed wine which has intriguing aromas of white flower, orange blossom, fig, pear and kaffir lime. It leads to a poised, expansive palate defined by a fine, mineral acidity that drives the characteristic Kevin John flavours of lime, fig, dried pear and honeysuckle. Beautifully balanced, it shows many years of promise ahead.

2017 Condrieu, Chaillées de l’Enfer, Georges Vernay

Thanks to Georges, the abandoned, steep slopes here were given new life in the 1960s. In fact, this determined man had the genius intuition to cultivate vines on the “chaillées”, or terraces, aptly known as the “chaillées de l’Enfer” (terraces from hell)!
On the nose, the 2017 reveals exquisite floral notes, like old rose and peony, as well as a fruity side. 2020 Chardonnay ‘El Diablo Vineyard’, Senses

The nose is intense, wide, very elegant and persistent with scents of honey and country flowers. The palate is dry, soft, well balanced with an extraordinary persistence due to its full body. It matches with truffles, fish and poultry dishes.

2019 Chardonnay ‘B.A. Thieriot Vineyard’, Senses

2019 stands out as one of the more exceptional vintages in recent memory. Cooler temperatures and stable weather throughout the growing season allowed for slow maturation of flavours without any heat events spiking sugar accumulation in the berries. Although 2019 also saw the devastating Kincade fire in Sonoma County, the fruit was harvested by then, so the smoke did not affect the grapes.
