The wine is a blend of Garnacha, Syrah and Monastrell sourced from the rising star Valencia DO, and has been made by award-winning winemaker Victor Marqués at the state-of-the-art Bodegas Murviedro. Unoaked and fermented in stainless steel, this wine is all about freshness and capturing the essence of the Valencian sunshine.
This wine has aromas of black fruits, vanilla and toasted almonds, with a rich and rounded palate. It will pair beautifully with grilled meats, stews or cheese.
Red WineThe Chivite Legardeta range of wines includes Syrah, Chardonnay and this Garnacha. Born in one of the most northern areas of the Iberian Peninsula for the cultivation of grapes, the Finca Legardeta. This terroir, located 45 km from Pamplona is where these three unique wines are born, which have adapted perfectly to this enclave thanks to its climate and type of soil.
After 10 months in French oak barrels, the 2017 Garnacha shows a ruby red colour with intense violet hues. Its nose is fruity, with a predominance of red fruit (raspberry, strawberry), caramelised apple notes, very direct and seductive. Good entry on the palate, elegant, full-bodied, with refreshing and balanced acidity.
As Julián Chivite points out, “the confluence of the Atlantic and continental climates in Legardeta, allows the Garnacha variety to reach perfect maturity, resulting in a wine of great varietal clarity and unusual freshness”.

Red WineQuinta de Quercus winemaker Sam Harrop produces single vineyard and parcel wines from 44 hectares of high-altitude, sustainably grown vineyards in central Castile. This 2017 Quinta de Quercus is a single-vineyard wine made from the hillside plantings of 30-year-old Tempranillo.
In the glass, it has intense aromas of ripe blackberries that are enhanced by subtle herbal notes and refined layers of oak spice and clove. Full-bodied and concentrated, yet juicy and vibrant, this wine delivers a beautifully textured palate of velvety, finely-knit tannins and a precise, long finish. This wine is age-worthy and will drink very well into the late 2020s.
The grapes are grown in a single parcel called Viña Ocaña, which is the oldest vineyard plot on the Quinta de Quercus estate. Situated at 800 metres above sea level, the altitude imparts a distinct freshness to the wine. The warm days are tempered by cool nights and this temperature difference helps to retain the acidity in the grapes balancing the concentrated flavours.
Valencian winemaker Víctor Marqués has crafted a fabulous wine using organic, biodynamic and sustainable principles. It opens in the glass with intense aromas of tropical fruit with notes of vanilla and roasted flavours. Full-bodied on the palate, soft and silky texture, well-integrated acidity. Intense notes of pineapple and vanilla with a very long finish. This Chardonnay has a great character and an impressive length.
After whole bunch pressing the wine ages on its lees for five months in French oak which adds subtle vanilla and toasty notes to the intense tropical pineapple flavours and aromas.
Casa Lo Alto Manzán is made from Bobal, a grape that is increasingly attracting the attention of wine consumers. Most people have never heard of Bobal, and yet it is the second most planted red grape variety in Spain, second only to Tempranillo! Traditionally used in bulk wine production it is no finding it feet as a standalone wine and as the muse of exceptional winemakers such as Casa Lo Alto’s Valencian winemaker Víctor Marqués. Using organic, biodynamic and sustainable principles he has crafted this stunning Bobal from three vineyards planted between 1940 and 1965.
Casa Lo Alto Manzán 2017 is a fluid red wine with light herbaceous aromas and Incisive red fruit. On the palate, it is fresh and fruity, with medium acidity and mouthwatering dry tannins. This really is such a pure and joyful wine and deserves your attention!
Interesting facts: The vines are planted bush-style in order to save water and protect them from over-exposure to the sun. In the soil, which is calcareous clayey and poor in organic matter, the use of chemical products is avoided and biodynamic preparations are used. In the winery, the grapes are destemmed but not pressed. Once they arrive, they undergo spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts. After pressing the juice is then decanted into barrels to rest on its lees for approximately 10 months.
Red WineLimite Sur is a 100% Garnacha from Ramón Bilbao’s parcel of vineyards in Sierra de Yerga in the south of Rioja. It is designed to show the richness and diversity of the Rioja by bringing Rioja’s “forgotten grapes” to life as well as highlighting the possibilities of areas of Rioja once considered to be hard to grow high-quality grapes.
In the glass, you find intense and complex aromas of red, fresh fruit, flowers and pink pepper. These flavours continue through to the palate that has soft tannin, harmony and balance. The finish is long and satisfying. The perfect companion for red meat, cured meat and cheeses.
“In my 22 years with Ramón Bilbao, I’ve explored all four corners of my home region and am still doing so,” said head winemaker Rodolfo Bastida. “So much has changed in that time, particularly the climate. What was once impossible for grapes in the north now gives freshness and zest; where Garnacha was a lost grape in Rioja, it now makes elegant, fruit-driven reds when grown at altitude,” he said.
White WineBodegas Nivarius specialises in the production of white wines from cool-climate vineyards in Rioja. This wine represents the perfect blend of the terroir and the cool-climate region, with its warm days and cool nights prolonging the ripening period and encouraging aromatic richness. The Viura grapes come from the sandy soils of the Najerilla, and the limestone soils of the Sonsierra, and are blended with Maturana Blanca from the Iregua Valley, grown in sandy soils. Maturana Blanca is an ancient native variety with small clusters and small, elliptical grapes which produces vibrant, tangy wines characterised by high, natural acidity.
In the glass it has an aromatic and complex bouquet of baked apple, floral and balsamic notes, layered with nutty tones and a hint of minerality. The palate is fresh, rounded and balanced, with lovely texture and finishes with stone fruits and a touch of almond.
Nivarius, meaning ‘snow-drift’, takes its name from the common sight of the snowy blanket which covers the vineyards in winter.
Red WineA complex wine full of finesse, with fruity notes of blackberry, cherry and liquorice enveloped in exquisitely integrated oak. A full-bodied palate with ripe tannins finishes with textured, long-lasting depth.
The grapes come from six villages in the Ribera del Duero, from vines with an average age of 30 years old. Each plot has a different soil structure which imparts complexity in the resulting wine. The vines are carefully tended throughout the year, with patience, specialised craftsmanship and manual work. Emphasis is placed on keeping the vine healthy, with winter pruning, bunch thinning and shoot thinning all taking place to capture the personality of the terroir. The grapes are hand-harvested at optimum maturity. They follow a philosophy of keeping yields low and strive to keep the soils healthy, which allows the grapes to fully express the characteristics of their terroir.
The ‘Superheroe’ from Xosé Lois Sebio is a layered fragrant blend highlighting notes of violet, blackberry, redcurrant and plums, combined with subtle hints of black pepper and mineral tones. Elegant and expansive on the palate, offering concentrated fruit, fine tannins with a balancing freshness. The rich yet vibrant finish is wonderfully intense and long.
This wine is from the DO Ribeiro, which means ‘River Bank’ in Galician, as it is located along the Miño river and its tributaries, in Galicia, North West Spain. A blend of indigenous varieties, the vines range from 40 to 70 years old. These vines are low yielding and produce small, concentrated, flavoursome berries. Planted at an altitude of 150 to 350 metres above sea-level, the vines are free-standing and trained with a stake in the traditional manner, at a density of 1.25 x 1.25 metres. The soils are clay with schist, the latter imparting mineral tones to the wine. The 35% of ‘other grapes’ in the blend is a field blend of Ferrol, Souson, Brancellao, Bastardo, Caiño Longo, Caiño da Terra, Carabuñeira and Tinta Marela. The grapes are grown mixed together in the same parcel which was planted between 70 to 90 years ago in the traditional manner at the time. The grapes are manually harvested simultaneously with each variety offering a unique characteristic to the blend.
Red WineIt is only in years with grapes of exceptional quality that a limited number of bottles of Mayor de Ondarre Rioja Reserva are produced. From two plots of old vines, the grapes are handpicked into small crates and then sorted to ensure only the best quality fruit makes the blend. The winemaking is classic Rioja, with 19 months in oak casks (80% French and 20% American), with the aim of preserving maximum concentration. A further couple of years in the bottle result in a completely mindblowing Rioja.
In the glass, it has a dark cherry colour with shades of iodine- blue. On the nose, it has a complex bouquet of fruit, with smoky and spicy aromas. On the palate, it is full-bodied and long, with a lot of concentration, which augurs well for a long life ahead.

La Rioja Alta’s Viña Ardanza Reserva is one of the finest Reserva’s available and a benchmark for the region. Every vintage is outstanding and never fails to elicit a smile upon drinking. La Rioja Alta is the gold standard for traditional bodegas: a winery that ages their wines the old-fashioned way, meaning three years in barrel with two rackings a year, followed by three years in bottle.
Outstanding aromatic intensity on the nose, with spicy and balsamic liquorice, clove, nutmeg and black pepper notes, enveloping a subtle hint of ripe red fruit: brandied cherry and raspberry jam. The palate is well-balanced and fresh, with a broad range of flavours and soft, round tannins, leading to a spicy, balsam-like aftertaste on the finish.

The 2016 vintage comprises 80% Tempranillo from Fuenmayor and Cenicero blended together with 20% Garnacha from the famous ‘La Pedriza’ vineyard in Tudelilla.
