  • 2020 Marmajuelo, Bodegas Vinatigo White Wine

    2020 Marmajuelo, Bodegas Vinatigo

    £2595

The Marmajuelo’s grape origin is still shrouded in mystery. Ever since winemaker Juan Jesus discovered a few vines in the late 1990s on the island of El Hierro, he has been completely in love with the variety and under his direction Bodegas Vinatigo has replanted it in the north-west of Tenerife. 25 hectares exist in the entire world, scattered across tiny plots in Tenerife and El Hierro, where the vineyards perch over the ocean and benefit from its cooling breezes.

The maritime freshness of these locations translates beautifully into the wine, with vibrant, saline acidity to complement the tropical aromas of passion fruit, pineapple and banana leaves. Textured, fresh and so persistent; a perfect wine to pair with seafood and fresh fish.
